As our 3rd party operations continue to evolve in a demanding work environment, we are seeking a dedicated Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to support our partners in managing health and safety risks and employee wellbeing. The ideal candidate will put safety standards into practice, lead projects to raise safety awareness, and support management's efforts to ensure compliance with all program expectations and applicable regulations. With your proactive approach, you will help drive a safety culture by conducting regular audits, managing safety metrics, and providing guidance on safety-related processes across our 3rd party operations. You will play a crucial advisory role for managers, helping investigate accidents, near misses and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
Key job responsibilities
In this crucial WHS position, you’ll report to the Country WHS Manager. Tasks will include:
• Conduct regular site visits to evaluate safety conditions and provide recommendations for operational improvements
• Carry out risk assessments and safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and local safety procedures
• Monitor and analyze safety metrics, create reports, and review incident trends to identify areas requiring attention
• Support implementation of new safety measures and provide guidance on safety-related processes
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon supply chain policies and local/regional regulations
• Lead safety discussions and participate in safety briefings
• Support incident investigations and ensure timely incident communication
• Analyze safety performance data to implement proactive improvement actions
• Support safety training completion and verify training effectiveness

This role is provides Workplace Health and Safety support to the Quick Commerce team. Quick Commerce (QC), also known as Amazon Now, is Amazon's ultra-fast delivery service designed to get orders to customers in under 30 minutes. Here are some key things to know about Quick Commerce: What It Delivers:
• High-frequency everyday essentials like groceries, fresh produce, perishables, and household staples
• Delivered from strategically located micro-fulfillment warehouses
• Utilizing multiple transport nodes including motorbikes, e-bikes, walkers
Where It Operates:
• Currently available in UAE, KSA and Egypt
• Growing rapidly with plans to TR and ZA
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience
- NVQ Level 3, or A Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience in data analysis and reporting
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues and leadership
- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
- Background in operations, safety or quality management
