About this role

Just Eat is looking to hire a Mobile Release Manager who is demonstrably passionate about learning, self-improvement and making quantifiable and qualified contributions to the way we release our Courier mobile apps to the App Store and Play Store.

Day to day you will deal with stakeholders at all levels to coordinate the inclusion of features into each release cycle, liaise with development teams on the status of work, report on the status of the release and support other teams within the business to ensure timely and consistent releases of our mobile apps.

This is a high profile role with the opportunity to improve and fine-tune your skills. Working alongside some of the most highly skilled engineers in the trade, you will be able to utilise a wealth of knowledge and skills whilst at the same time, contributing to the Just Eat Takeaway.com business.

These are some of the key components to the position:

- Release coordination & quality: Oversee fortnightly releases alongside the wider release team, coordinating internal sign-offs, quality checks, and hands-on smoke testing.
- Supervisory leadership & culture: Provide clear supervisory guidance to team members, nurturing a collaborative environment where cross-functional partners help each other succeed.
- Release subject matter expert: Act as the primary point of contact for release contents, accurately answering or routing queries regarding specific tasks built into each app version.
- Stakeholder alignment & status: Proactively communicate release milestones and status updates to development teams and the wider organisation to ensure complete alignment.
- Continuous improvement & CI/CD: Identify process bottlenecks and automation opportunities within Core team workflows and CI/CD pipelines, driving high-impact solutions with technical teams.
- App stewardship & best practices: Serve as a guardian of the app and best practices, consistently advocating for quality, efficiency, and exceptional standards across all release activities.
- Documentation streamlining: Streamline, create, and maintain release documentation, giving mobile teams clear, central, and up-to-date guidance on all requirements.
- Legal compliance & release notes: Support technical writers in crafting compliant release notes and manage prompt submission to the legal team to satisfy regulatory standards.

What will you bring to the team?

- Mobile lifecycle experience: Practical understanding of the full mobile app lifecycle, managing software delivery from early development through to app store distribution.
- Agile project management: Strong project management skills with proficiency in Jira to track release milestones, organise workflows, and maintain delivery momentum.
- Technical foundations & GitHub: Familiarity with CI/CD automation concepts and GitHub version control, enabling clear communication with engineering teams. Scripting and automation experience is a bonus.
- Quality & driving excellence: Solid understanding of software quality assurance processes, aiming high to ensure every release is reliable, secure, and high-performing.
- Partner collaboration: Collaborative spirit with a strong drive to understand internal and external partners, cultivating relationships based on respect and mutual success.
- Goal commitment & prioritisation: Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while staying committed to achieving goals.
- Clear communication & documentation: Adaptable communicator who distills complex information into clear documentation, actionable status updates, and engaging meetings.
- Responsible ownership & lasting impact: Proactive, responsible mindset with a focus on identifying room for improvement and making a lasting positive impact on core team processes.
- Cross-functional stakeholder alignment: Skilled at engaging stakeholders across all organisational levels, building trust and maintaining alignment throughout the release lifecycle.
