Private Equity IT develops and supports strategic applications across fund accounting, reporting, workflow automation, data integration, cloud services and financial calculations. Our teams work across multiple products and projects, providing broad business and technical exposure while delivering the reliability, scalability and security expected of enterprise financial systems.
We are looking for a software engineer who combines strong technical foundations with an enthusiasm to learn and contribute to architecture, software development, technical design and production support while delivering exceptional value to our Private Equity business partners.
Our engineers work across multiple products, technologies and initiatives supporting Citco's Private Equity business. This provides excellent opportunities to develop technical breadth while gaining exposure to real-world financial systems operating at global scale.
The position is based in our development center in Dublin and may require some international travel to other CITCO locations.
About You :
- You are an enthusiastic software engineer with approximately 2+ years of software development experience who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies and working collaboratively as part of a high-performing engineering team. You are curious about emerging technologies, including AI-assisted software development, and are committed to continuously improving your technical and professional skills while delivering quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, testing and support of enterprise software solutions.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, QA engineers and product stakeholders to deliver business value.
- Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions while learning from more experienced engineers.
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues and identifying opportunities for system improvements.
- Utilize modern software engineering tools and practices to improve development efficiency and software quality.
- Contribute to the documentation of solutions, technical designs and operational processes.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of professional hands-on experience participating in the design, development, testing and support of software applications.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying current with evolving software engineering practices, tools and technologies
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, AWS Q, Kiro or equivalent tools to improve productivity, software quality and delivery outcomes.
- Understanding of the importance of validating and testing AI-generated code before deployment.
- Interest in emerging technologies including LLMs, Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions.
- Appreciation of software security, privacy and responsible AI practices.
- Understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
- Familiarity with automated testing approaches including unit and integration testing.
- Experience working with source control systems such as Git / Bitbucket.
- Ability to design maintainable, readable and supportable code.
- Understanding of REST API design principles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Node and / or C#
- Practical experience with React
- Experience with SQL Server, Postgres or similar DB technology
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in financial services is advantageous.
- Exposure to alternative investments, fund administration or accounting platforms is beneficial but not required.
