Mortgage Credit Processing Specialist

Job Summary
We are looking for experienced Mortgage Credit Processing Specialists to join our Zurich-based team supporting mortgage lending operations for a leading financial institution.
The role will involve supporting the end-to-end mortgage credit processing lifecycle , including review of credit applications and documentation, assessment of borrower and property information, coordination with internal stakeholders, and ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and in line with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
Given the nature of the role and interaction with Swiss documentation and stakeholders, native-level German language proficiency is a key requirement
Responsibilities
- Process and review residential mortgage credit applications from initiation through approval, documentation and closing.
- Review borrower, income, financial and property-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Perform checks against defined credit policies, procedures and approval criteria .
- Analyse and validate property-related information relevant to mortgage lending.
- Review and interpret Swiss property and land-register documentation (Grundbuch) where applicable.
- Coordinate with credit officers, relationship managers, property specialists, legal teams and other stakeholders to resolve documentation or processing issues.
- Ensure all required conditions and documentation are fulfilled before credit approval/disbursement.
- Identify discrepancies, exceptions and potential risks and escalate them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records in relevant mortgage/credit processing systems.
- Support quality control, audit and regulatory requirements.
- Meet agreed SLA, productivity and quality targets while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy.
- Contribute to process improvement, standardisation and automation initiatives.
- Support the team with complex or escalated mortgage cases where required.
Eligibility Requirements
Essential
- Native-level German language proficiency – written and spoken.
- Strong experience in mortgage lending / mortgage credit processing .
- Good understanding of the mortgage lending lifecycle , including application, credit assessment, approval, documentation and closing.
- Experience reviewing and validating financial and property documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and exceptions.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage cases within defined SLAs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in German.
Highly Relevant / Preferred
- Experience working with Swiss mortgage products and processes .
- Experience working with Swiss Land Registers / Grundbuch and related property documentation.
- Knowledge of the Swiss residential real-estate and mortgage market.
- Experience with Swiss banking or financial-services organisations.
- Familiarity with Swiss mortgage lending regulations, documentation and market practices.
- Experience with mortgage/credit platforms such as Finnova, Avaloq, or other relevant banking systems .
- English language proficiency.
