WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an ICP Instrument Operator to join our team at our head office in Prescot, Liverpool.
As an ICP Instrument Operator, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of ICP spectrometers within the laboratory. You will work alongside instrument operators and support staff to organise and progress daily workload, analyse samples using ICP-OES and ICP-MS equipment, and ensure results are accurate and reliable.
You will also prepare calibration and interference standards when required and follow documented procedures and agreed work schedules.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Required Competencies
- A strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic who can demonstrate a diplomatic and measured approach through leading by example and encouraging others.
- Ability to demonstrate literacy and to be numerate.
- Experience creating and validating instrument methods.
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity and can occasionally carry loads of up to 10kg without issue.
- Be able to focus on meeting given deadlines.
- Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats.
- Proven time management skills, quality driven and proactive.
Required Work Experience
- Experience with an ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS Spectrometer is desirable.
- Modern Agilent or Thermo instruments experience is preferred but not essential.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum GCSE equivalent education in Maths, English Language and Science.
Travel
- Travel between local laboratories or overseas offices may be required on a case by case basis.
