We are currently expanding our ENGINEERING SERVICES and are looking for a  Laboratory Analyst   to join our growing team and help deliver high-quality projects to our clients

Job Description

- Perform analytical duties independently, following approved methods, SOPs and required productivity and quality standards after full training.

- Maintain good laboratory practices and ensure compliance with laboratory quality systems, including UKAS (ISO 17025), MCERTS or equivalent standards.

- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, including appropriate use of PPE and timely reporting of accidents, incidents and non-conformances.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory, training, equipment and quality records in accordance with company procedures.

- Carry out routine equipment maintenance, performance checks and calibration where trained, and report any faults or abnormalities promptly.

- Monitor and investigate quality issues, including QC results, PT results, bias/precision checks, limit reviews and issues recorded in the relevant systems.

- Organize and prioritize own workload to meet departmental production, quality and customer requirements.

- Support technical activities, document reviews, audits and the training of new team members where required and appropriately trained.

- Maintain a professional and collaborative approach, actively contribute to positive change and take responsibility for personal development

Qualifications

- Experience of working in a high-pressure, production-driven environment.

- Experience of laboratory procedures, principles, methods and instrumentation.

- Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent).

- A solid understanding of Chemistry, including the periodic table of elements, with the ability to apply scientific principles in a laboratory environment.

- Good understanding of scientific principles, nomenclature and theory.

- Computer literacy – specifically knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

- Experience of safety working procedures and Health & Safety regulations.

- Understanding of UKAS and MCERTS standards, or equivalent, is desirable.

- Experience of working in a high-throughput Chemistry laboratory is desirable.

- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
