About this role

Frontend Solutions Architect, Location: Bengaluru (onsite) · Experience: 4 - 6 years
About Eka.care Eka.care builds healthcare technology for India, used by doctors and patients. Doctors spend their whole clinic day in our Desktop and web products: EkaScribe (our AI medical scribe), and the embeddable widgets and SDKs our partners integrate. For them the browser is the operating system. It captures live audio, streams AI output, works on patchy clinic networks, and can't lose a patient record.
The role We're looking for a frontend architect who understands the browser, os dependencies and front end technologies at a deep level: how it schedules, renders, stores, isolates and fails. You'll set the frontend architecture across Eka's AI web products and write core code yourself. When something is slow, leaking memory or behaving strangely in production, you're the person who finds the root cause.
What you'll do
- Own frontend architecture across products. Define how EkaScribe web, EkaScribe Extension and our embeddable widgets and SDKs are structured, built, shared and deployed. This covers module boundaries, micro-frontends vs a monorepo, the design system, and state management.
- Build real-time, AI-native interfaces. Handle browser audio capture (Web Audio, MediaRecorder, AudioWorklet), streaming over WebSocket and SSE, and rendering LLM output progressively without jank.
- Engineer for unreliable environments. Design offline-first and resilient flows with Service Workers, IndexedDB, background sync and conflict handling, so a doctor never loses work on a bad connection.
- Own performance end to end. Tune Core Web Vitals, bundle strategy, code splitting, main-thread budgets, Web Workers, memory profiling and long-session stability. Doctors keep our tabs open for 10+ hours.
- Build secure embeddables and SDKs. Work with iframe and Shadow DOM isolation, postMessage contracts, CSP, CORS, auth token handling, and safe handling of health data in the browser.
- Raise the engineering bar. Write architecture docs and RFCs, review critical PRs, set up frontend observability (RUM, error tracking, performance budgets in CI), and mentor the frontend team.
- Go deep when it matters. Read browser specs, Chromium bugs and framework source to understand why something behaves the way it does, not just how to work around it.

Must-have
- 4+ years building complex web applications, including at least 2 years owning frontend architecture across multiple teams or products.
- Expert TypeScript : advanced types, type-safe API contracts, and large-codebase ergonomics.
- Deep React expertise: rendering and reconciliation internals, concurrent features, Suspense, memoization trade-offs, and server vs client rendering
- Strong browser internals knowledge: event loop and task scheduling, the rendering pipeline (style, layout, paint, composite), V8 memory and GC, networking and caching, and the storage and security models.
- Hands-on with Web APIs beyond the basics, such as Web Workers, Service Workers, IndexedDB, WebSocket and streams. Web Audio or MediaRecorder is a strong plus.
- Hands on With Audio and streaming pipelines (WebRTC or real-time media experiences)
- A proven record of making large apps fast and stable, with numbers to show it.
- Solid grasp of frontend infrastructure : bundlers (Vite, Webpack, Rspack), monorepos, CI/CD, and module federation or micro-frontend patterns.
- Can explain deep technical trade-offs clearly to engineers, product and leadership.
- Building embeddable SDKs, widgets or Chrome extensions used by third parties

Nice-to-have
- Healthcare, fintech or other regulated-data frontends (ABDM, HIPAA)
- WebAssembly, or on-device ML in the browser (ONNX Runtime Web, WebGPU)
- Contributions to open-source frontend tooling, or public writing and talks on browser performance
