Purpose of the role
To design, develop, implement, and support mathematical, statistical, and machine learning models and analytics used in business decision-making
Accountabilities
- Design analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise.
- Collaboration with technology to specify any dependencies required for analytical solutions, such as data, development environments and tools.
- Development of high performing, comprehensively documented analytics and modelling solutions, demonstrating their efficacy to business users and independent validation teams.
- Implementation of analytics and models in accurate, stable, well-tested software and work with technology to operationalise them.
- Provision of ongoing support for the continued effectiveness of analytics and modelling solutions to users.
- Demonstrate conformance to all Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Policies, particularly Model Risk Policy.
- Ensure all development activities are undertaken within the defined control environment.

Join us as a Quantitative Analyst Vice President (VP) at Barclays, where you will play a key role in developing and enhancing quantitative models that support Treasury, Asset & Liability Management (ALM), Liquidity Risk, Customer Behaviour, and Market Risk activities across the bank.
You will work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Treasury, Business, and Technology functions to deliver analytical insights, improve modelling capabilities, and support strategic decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced quantitative solutions, influence modelling standards, and help drive innovation within a highly collaborative environment.
Your focus will be on delivering robust analytical models, managing complex stakeholder requirements, and ensuring solutions meet high standards of performance, governance, and regulatory compliance.
To be successful as a Quantitative Analyst Vice President (VP) , you should have:
- Experience developing and applying quantitative models in areas such as Treasury, Asset & Liability Management (ALM), Liquidity Risk, Customer Behaviour, or Market Risk disciplines to generate commercial insights for business stakeholders.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across global teams and engaging with senior stakeholders in Risk, Business, and Technology functions.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into executable delivery plans, manage critical dependencies, and drive outcomes in complex environments.
- Extensive development experience in Python, including data processing (e.g. with pandas, polars, or similar), and handling complexity (e.g. through multi-processing, or caching).
- Experience with software architecture and databases. Understanding shared codebase best practices and the cost of in-house modelling software development.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Experience supporting a range of banking portfolios, including retail and wholesale lending, deposits, Treasury, and financial markets businesses.
- Knowledge of liquidity and interest rate risk frameworks, such as LCR, NSFR, NII Sensitivity, Economic Value of Equity (EVE), VaR methodologies, and tail risk analysis.
- Experience working with large and complex datasets within financial institutions, including implementing solutions to address data quality, governance, and integrity challenges.
- Experience producing model documentation and supporting Model Validation, Internal Audit, or other regulatory review processes governing advanced quantitative models.

This role is based in our office in Prague.
Entry Salary: 1,900,000.00 CZK
Upper Salary: 2,500,000.00 CZK
The entry and upper salary information above includes only annual full-time equivalent base salary and represents the typical range of pay for the role. The actual pay rate will reflect the responsibility level of the role and experience level of the individual. The entry and upper salary information does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
