About this role

Position: TMP DESIGNER / TTM PLANNER (NEW ZEALAND PROJECTS)

Salary range : up to Php 98,000 Philippine Peso (The final amount will be at the the client discretion basing on the candidate’s skills and experience.)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday following New Zealand business time

Work set-up: 100% Remote work (Independent Contractor Agreement)

Holidays : New Zealand Public Holidays

OVERVIEW

Our client is an established New Zealand-based provider of temporary traffic management solutions, supporting construction, infrastructure, maintenance, and other projects that require safe and compliant traffic management. The company delivers traffic management planning, onsite support, professional consulting, and related services, working closely with contractors, project teams, road authorities, and traffic management personnel to develop practical solutions that protect workers, road users, pedestrians, and the public. We are looking for an experienced Temporary Traffic Management Plan (TMP) Designer to join the team remotely and take responsibility for preparing accurate and practical Traffic Management Plans, traffic management diagrams, Corridor Access Requests (CARs), permits, and supporting documentation for New Zealand projects. The role will involve collaborating with Operations teams, clients, STMS personnel, contractors, councils, and Road Controlling Authorities (RCAs) to ensure plans meet project requirements, safety standards, and approval requirements, while also reviewing project information, identifying risks or missing details, and coordinating amendments when necessary. This opportunity is well suited to a technically strong TMP professional with solid New Zealand traffic management planning experience who can work independently, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and consistently deliver clear, practical, and accurate plans for onsite implementation.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and update Traffic Management Plans in line with NZGTTM principles, RCA requirements, and project specifications.
- Develop clear and accurate traffic management diagrams and supporting documentation.
- Review project drawings, work methodologies, site information, and client requirements before preparing plans.
- Develop practical and risk-based temporary traffic management solutions.
- Prepare and coordinate Corridor Access Requests, permits, and related documentation.
- Submit plans and applications to relevant Road Controlling Authorities.
- Monitor approval progress and coordinate responses to RCA feedback, amendments, and requests for additional information.
- Work closely with Operations and STMS personnel to understand project requirements and provide planning support.
- Liaise with clients, councils, RCAs, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding planning requirements.
- Identify missing, unclear, or conflicting information and obtain clarification where required.
- Update plans when project requirements, methodology, dates, or site conditions change.
- Maintain accurate records of plan versions, submissions, amendments, approvals, and supporting documents.
- Ensure approved plans are clear, practical, and easy for onsite teams to interpret and implement.
- Escalate complex, unusual, or high-risk planning matters when additional technical input is required.
- Manage multiple plans, applications, revisions, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes, templates, and documentation.

Requirements

Requirements

- 3+ years of experience in traffic management planning, TMP design, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience preparing Traffic Management Plans for New Zealand projects .
- Strong working knowledge of NZGTTM principles and New Zealand RCA requirements.
- Experience preparing Corridor Access Requests (CARs), permits, and associated documentation .
- Experience using RapidPlan or comparable traffic management planning software .
- Ability to interpret project drawings, work methodologies, site information, and operational requirements.
- Understanding of risk-based temporary traffic management design.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, amendments, submissions, and deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong communication skills when working with clients, operational teams, councils, and approval authorities.
- Ability to work independently and escalate complex technical matters appropriately.
- Comfortable working remotely with a New Zealand-based team.
- Reliable internet connection and a professional home-office environment.
- Availability to work New Zealand business hours.

Nice to Have

- Current or previous New Zealand TTM Planner qualification .
- Current or previous STMS qualification .
- Previous operational traffic management experience.
- Experience working with multiple New Zealand RCAs.
- Experience preparing plans involving lane closures, pedestrian management, contraflow, Stop/Go operations, road closures, and other TTM methods.
- Experience managing RCA amendments through to approval.
- Previous experience working remotely with a New Zealand traffic management company.
