Business Developer Controlling

We at WeQuel are now looking for a Business Developer Controlling in Södertälje, where you will become an important part of the client's Business Development and Strategy team within R&D, with a focus on financial governance, planning, and strategic decision-making. The role combines finance and controlling expertise with business development and strategic project management, working across organizational boundaries. You will also drive strategic initiatives that shape how the client's R&D organization operates. The team works with functional strategies and ways of working, and supports and challenges R&D management in strategic and cross-functional questions.

As a consultant with us, you will have the opportunity to work with one of our clients, leading companies in the automotive and heavy vehicle industry, where you will help strengthen financial governance, improve planning and decision-making processes, and develop digital and AI-based solutions for the future.

Your responsibilities:

- Clarifying and developing financial interfaces, roles, and responsibilities between the client's R&D, group-level R&D, and other relevant units
- Driving strategic finance and controlling projects within R&D
- Improving financial planning, reporting, and follow-up processes
- Prioritizing the client's brand R&D investments together with Commercial stakeholders
- Developing financial governance, management processes, and internal controls
- Analyzing financial data to identify key drivers, improve data quality, and increase transparency around financial performance
- Identifying and developing digital and AI-based solutions for financial processes and decision-making
- Coordinating financial activities for externally funded R&D projects, where applicable

You will work in a complex, cross-functional environment where you independently drive initiatives forward while collaborating with stakeholders across the client's organization and its parent group.

Requirements:

- At least 5 years of experience in project management and finance/controlling
- Experience in finance, controlling, or financial business development
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering and Management, Engineering, or Economics
- Excellent English communication skills
- Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization and analytics tools
- Strong skills in financial analysis and accounting
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional initiatives
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Self-driven and solution-oriented
- Strategic perspective combined with a hands-on approach
- Ability to work independently in a complex environment
- Ability to see both the bigger picture and relevant details
- Comfortable working across organizational boundaries
- Ability to create structure and turn complex issues into concrete actions and improvements
- Interest in digitalization and practical applications of AI in financial processes

Meritorious:

- Finance, controlling, or financial business development experience within R&D, engineering, or another complex industrial environment
- Experience with external funding (EU or national), financial reporting, funding regulations, or audit processes
- Knowledge of the client or its parent group and their financial processes
- Swedish, German, or Portuguese
