# Job Description Summary
We are seeking a professional to join GE Aerospace Celma as the Technical Training Area Leader. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for the governance, administration, and continuous improvement of technical training processes for MRO technical personnel. You will play a key role in ensuring workforce qualification, training compliance, and operational readiness in support of business, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Job Description
• Lead the technical training team responsible for execution and control of training processes for technical personnel within the MRO environment.
• Own the administration and governance of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring training assignments, completion status, records, and reporting are accurate and current.
• Lead the control and execution of onboarding, regular, recurrent, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs to ensure workforce readiness and qualification.
• Drive the governance and follow-up of the mentorship program, ensuring alignment with technical capability and expected behavior development needs.
• Lead the control of special process personnel qualifications, ensuring technicians maintain required certifications and authorizations in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Manage SAP/ERP authorizations for technicians, ensuring alignment between qualification status and tasks claiming authorization.
• Own the development and control of the instructorship program, including instructor qualification, readiness, effectiveness, and standardization.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, HR, and other support functions to identify capability gaps and deploy effective training and qualification plans.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations related to training records, personnel qualifications, and technical capability management.
• Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators related to training compliance, qualification status, overdue training, and workforce capability.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits related to training systems, qualification records, and personnel authorization processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in training processes, systems, standard work, and team effectiveness.
• Ensure training documentation, qualification matrices, and associated records are maintained in a complete, accurate, and auditable manner.
• Develop team capability and foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with other shops within the GE Aerospace network to strengthen technical training controls and procedures.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or technical degree with relevant experience, in Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing/Industrial or related field.
• Experience or knowledge of technical training, qualification management and technical operations support, preferably in an industrial or aerospace environment.
• Previous experience leading teams or projects and working across functions to drive execution and results.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and functional stakeholders and also present results to upper management.
• Advanced English proficiency with ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Spanish is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
Desired Characteristics
• Knowledge of aviation regulations applicable to maintenance training and personnel qualification, including Parts 43,65 and 145.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience in an aerospace repair or maintenance environment.
• Previous experience dealing with regulators and customers.
• Demonstrated leadership behaviors aligned with accountability, collaboration, customer focus and GE Aerospace FLIGHT DECK principles.
• Desired SAP knowledge.
