The Citigold Client Advisor is a strategic partner for High-Net-Worth (HNW) Non-Resident Indian (NRI) individuals, delivering comprehensive wealth management guidance and tailored financial solutions. Serving as a trusted advisor, the Citigold Client Advisor proactively anticipates client needs, crafting personalized strategies that encompass sophisticated investment management, advanced planning, and expert navigation of multi-currency financial landscapes.
This client-centric approach empowers NRI clients to achieve their financial aspirations while contributing to the growth of the Citi Wealth franchise. The Advisor builds deep, long-term relationships, acting as the central point of contact and collaborating with internal specialists to provide holistic client experience.
This role emphasizes wealth preservation, capital growth, and cross-border financial planning, recognizing the specific needs of affluent and high-net-worth clients across the Non-Resident Indian diaspora. The Citigold Client Advisor is expected to possess a strong entrepreneurial drive and consistently seek opportunities to enhance the client’s experience.
Responsibilities
Strategic Wealth Management
- Develop and implement personalized financial plans encompassing investment management, offshore portfolio diversification, retirement planning, estate planning, and risk management.
- Deliver tailored advisory across multi-currency solutions, fixed income, equities, funds, and structured investments suitable for NRI clients.
Relationship Management
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with affluent and HNW NRI clients, serving as their primary point of contact for comprehensive wealth management requirements.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews, communicate market insights, and proactively address client inquiries and banking needs.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the NRI segment.
- Leverage professional networks, community associations, and client referrals to expand the client base and drive AUM growth.
Collaboration
- Partner with internal specialists (e.g., Investment Counselors, Wealth Planners, FX Specialists, Treasury Product Specialists) to provide clients with holistic financial solutions.
Market Analysis
- Stay abreast of global market trends, macroeconomic developments, currency movements, and investment opportunities affecting NRI portfolios.
- Provide clients with informed perspectives, research updates, and actionable recommendations.
Client Events
- Organize and participate in client engagement sessions, market outlook presentations, and networking events to strengthen client relationships.
Compliance, Risk & Controls
- Ensure strict compliance with KYC/AML guidelines, cross-border regulations, and internal risk policies.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 6 to 10 (or more) years of experience in wealth management, relationship management, or premier banking, with a focus on serving affluent and HNW clients.
- Relevant experience managing and acquiring clients within the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) market, with an established network across relevant NRI geographies. Regional or multi-market coverage is viewed favorably.
- Strong understanding of the cultural nuances, business practices, cross-border financial considerations, and wealth management requirements of the Indian diaspora.
- Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Hindi and/or other regional Indian languages (e.g., Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali) is advantageous depending on target market coverage.
- Proven track record of success in business development, client acquisition, and relationship management.
- Solid understanding of global financial markets, wealth planning principles, investment products, and FX solutions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Mandatory regulatory certifications and licenses required for wealth advisory and product distribution in the relevant jurisdiction.
Education
- Bachelor's/University degree required; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA, Wealth Management Diplomas) preferred.
