Community Services Director

Position Summary
KS Management is seeking an organized, energetic, and service-oriented Community Services Director to oversee resident services, community programming, communications, and day-to-day administrative operations on-site at University Commons, an active 55+ condominium community in Ann Arbor.
The Community Services Director is a highly visible position and serves as a primary point of contact for residents, committees, volunteers, vendors, and visitors. The successful candidate will enjoy working with people, managing multiple activities simultaneously, and helping create a welcoming, engaging, and well-organized community.
The Community Services Director reports to the Community Association Manager and works closely with resident committees, the Board of Directors, maintenance and accounting personnel, and outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Services
- Serve as a primary point of contact for residents and guests, responding to questions and helping resolve day-to-day concerns.
- Welcome new residents and conduct community orientations and tours.
- Coordinate membership applications, move-in and move-out materials, resident directories, communication lists, name badges, mailbox information, and related resident records.
- Assist residents with community services, facilities, and administrative requests.
- Maintain accurate resident and community records while protecting confidential information.
Community Programs & Events
- Plan, coordinate, and administer University Commons' resident enrichment programs and special events.
- Work closely with the Program Committee and other resident committees, clubs, and organizations.
- Schedule speakers, performers, meetings, programs, and community events.
- Coordinate volunteers and assist committees with event planning and receptions.
- Provide basic audio/visual and Zoom support for community programs and meetings.
Communications
- Coordinate regular communications with residents.
- Prepare the weekly community email and event announcements.
- Maintain and distribute the community and events calendars.
- Maintain current information on the University Commons website, including calendars, forms, policies, governing documents, and other resident resources.
- Coordinate community notices with the Community Association Manager.
Office & Administrative Operations
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for community operations.
- Maintain common-room reservation schedules, calendars, files, records, and incident reports.
- Maintain community records in electronic form whenever practical.
- Coordinate office, mailroom, fitness, and other community equipment servicing and supplies.
- Support maintenance personnel in responding to resident service needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Community Association Manager and accounting personnel to ensure that resident requests are directed to the appropriate person and handled efficiently.

- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, events, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong computer and technology skills and the ability to learn new systems.
- Experience working collaboratively with volunteers, committees, residents, vendors, and staff.
- Good judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Experience in senior living, condominium or homeowners associations, hospitality, property management, or community management is preferred.
- A collaborative, flexible, hands-on approach and a genuine interest in working with an active older-adult community.
What Success Looks Like
The successful Community Services Director will be someone residents know and trust; who can move comfortably from helping an individual resident to coordinating a community dinner or speaker program; who communicates clearly and follows through; and who brings organization, warmth, good judgment, and professionalism to the daily life of University Commons.
Compensation
The anticipated salary for this position is $55,000-65,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, primarily on-site position with regular working hours of approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional additional evening or weekend availability may be required for special community events.
The position requires the flexibility to adjust working hours when necessary to support scheduled community programs and events.
