About this role

Position Summary

The Aximat Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Aximat machinery to accurately drill, bore, and machine furniture components according to production specifications. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to read and follow work instructions and drawings, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Position Details

- Set up and operate Aximat machinery used in the production of furniture components.

- Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and machine instructions to determine required operations and production requirements.

- Load, position, and secure materials into the machine accurately.

- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for the job.

- Enter or verify machine programs and make adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy and quality.

- Operate machinery while monitoring the production process for proper operation.

- Inspect finished components for dimensions, hole placement, alignment, and overall quality.

- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment as required.

- Make minor machine adjustments to correct quality or production issues.

- Identify worn or damaged tooling and notify the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel.

- Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.

- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.

- Follow all safety procedures, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and required personal protective equipment.

- Communicate production, quality, equipment, or material issues to the supervisor promptly.

- Assist with material handling and other production activities as needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

- Previous experience operating Aximat equipment, CNC machinery, or similar automated woodworking/furniture manufacturing equipment preferred.

- Furniture manufacturing or woodworking experience preferred.

- Ability to read and understand production drawings, work orders, and written instructions.

- Basic understanding of machine setup, tooling, and machine adjustments.

- Ability to use basic measuring and inspection equipment.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize quality issues.

- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.

- Ability to work independently while meeting production and quality requirements.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
