Purpose

The Senior Manager, Wealth Credit Structuring supports the National Director, Wealth Credit Structuring in the management and resolution of problem loan accounts domiciled to Private Banking.

The role acts as a key escalation point for emerging problem loans, delivering strategic guidance and advanced recovery strategies while supporting effective advice and guidance to private banking piers of accounts requiring heightened intervention.

Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted partner to Private Banking, GRM, and Global Wealth leadership.
The role also works across Credit Risk, Credit Structuring, Relationship Management, Operations, Technology, Legal, and Compliance teams to assist with credit policy, improve credit delivery, enhance productivity and strengthen governance to support capital retention and protection.

What you will be doing:

- Lead the development and execution of recovery and resolution strategies for higher risk and more complex Private Banking accounts.

- Serve as a primary point of contact for Private Banking , Credit , and external advisors on higher risk files.

- Contribute insight on portfolio trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for earlier intervention.

- Assist and review quarterly risk assessments and provisioning reviews on assigned accounts.

- Navigate credit submissions through the adjudication process, ensuring risks and mitigation strategies are clearly articulated.

- Ensure adherence to Bank policies, regulatory standards, and audit expectations.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement, training, and post mortem learnings in collaboration with Banking and Credit partners.
Account Management

- Actively assist and manage resolution timelines and recovery outcomes to minimize losses and reputational risk.

- Ensure accurate and timely credit documentation, system updates, and reporting.

- Assist with development, maintenance , and updating of Private Banking credit policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with enterprise credit frameworks and risk appetite.

- Provide subject‑matter expertise on recovery policies, collateral frameworks and provisioning for credit losses.

- Work on initiatives to improve and monitor capital measurement and Private Banking’s capital allocation .

- Embed risk appetite, internal controls, and regulatory requirements into credit policies, processes and tools.

- Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Audit teams to support first‑line risk management, issue resolution, and audit responses.

- Maintain strong documentation standards to support governance, transparency, and regulatory scrutiny.

- Work with Risk, Operations, Technology, Product, frontline teams and credit support teams to ensure solutions are practical and business‑aligned.

- Communicate changes clearly and effectively to stakeholders, reinforcing consistent adoption and feedback loops.

- Monitor macroeconomic and regulatory trends impacting private banking credit portfolios.

- Work with other business lines and credit approvers to provide insights and trends data.

- Provide coaching, guidance, and functional leadership to individual and group contributors supporting credit policy and process initiatives (where applicable).

- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement.

- Support capability building in credit policy interpretation, policy and process design, risk awareness, and change delivery.

Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. MBA, professional designation or advanced degree considered an asset.

- 5+ years of experience in credit policy, credit risk, lending operations, private banking credit environments, workouts and restructuring.

- Strong knowledge of credit policy, risk appetite frameworks, collateral management, regulatory considerations.

- Understanding of UHNW/HNW client needs and complex credit structuring in a private banking or wealth management context.

- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.

- Analytical and data-driven, with proficiency in credit analytics and performance tracking.
