Are you a detail-oriented student interested in workplace safety and gaining hands-on experience in the utility industry?
AECI is offering a paid Safety Internship at our Headquarters in Springfield, MO, for Summer 2027 ! This full-time summer opportunity provides hands-on experience supporting safety initiatives across AECI. You may also have the opportunity to travel to our power plant locations and potentially receive course credit* while gaining valuable real-world experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Students currently enrolled in an Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or related program .
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn and work with employees across different locations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Safety Audits: Participate in safety compliance audits at AECI plant locations.
- Industrial Hygiene & Chemical Inventory: Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring and chemical inventory activities at AECI plant locations.
- Safety Systems Support: Assist with safety permitting and chemical inventory management software.
- Safety Events & Training: Help organize safety events and training activities.
- PPE Support: Assist with personal protective equipment inventory and fit testing.
- Plant Experience: Travel to AECI plant locations for work assignments as needed.
- Additional Projects: Support other safety projects and initiatives as assigned.
