This role supports our Moventum Fleet Management team.

The Director of Sales is a leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and team performance across Moventum Fleet Management’s various regions and sales team. This leader will be instrumental in developing new markets, strengthening customer relationships, and building a scalable regional sales structure to support Moventum Fleet Management’s continued national growth. The Director will collaborate closely with peers and cross-functional leaders to ensure cohesive growth, consistent customer experience, and alignment with overall corporate strategy

This role will serve as a key regional leader within Moventum’s Sales organization, helping establish the foundation for long-term geographic expansion and strong cultural alignment across teams. By growing new markets and building a robust regional sales infrastructure, the Director of Sales will directly support the company’s broader vision of becoming the leading mid-market fleet management company.

As a Director of Sales, Here’s What You Will Do:

Regional Leadership & Market Development

- Lead all sales and business development efforts with accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and customer retention.
- Identify and prioritize high-potential markets and segments, developing targeted strategies to expand Moventum’s geographic footprint.
- Collaborate with Operations and Finance teams to align market segment entry and growth plans with fleet availability, pricing strategy, and capital allocation.
- Own and manage regional pipeline development, forecasting, and performance against targets.
- Support trade show participation, industry events, and marketing efforts to enhance brand visibility and lead generation.

Sales Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of direct sales professionals to deliver consistent performance, teamwork and strong customer outcomes.
- Establish clear goals, KPIs, and accountability to ensure profitable & sustainable growth.
- Work collaboratively with VP of Sales and HR on team career development, succession planning and constantly optimizing variable compensation plans.
- Foster a collaborative, high sense of urgency, customer centric culture focused on results and high-touch service.
- Foster an exceptional Sales Operational rhythm providing clear pipeline managements goals as well as data backed activity and opportunity management to ensure goal achievement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with other Sales Directors (as required) to ensure consistency in sales approach, pricing strategies, and customer experience.
- Collaborate with the new Sasser leadership to identify high-potential verticals, develop customer strategies, and pursue new revenue streams.
- Coordinate with Sales Leaders at Express 4x4 Truck Rental (sister company) to identify and execute cross-selling opportunities—supporting clients who rent, lease, and own trucks in mixed-fleet environments.
- Work with Finance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure regional sales initiatives are aligned with business unit objectives.
- Contribute  insights and recommendations to strategic planning sessions with senior leadership, balancing the needs of customers with business unit objectives.

Customer & Market Engagement

- Build strong relationships with key regional and national customers, ensuring exceptional service and account retention.
- Represent Moventum at regional trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events, promoting the company’s brand and capabilities.
- Monitor competitive activity, pricing, and industry trends to inform strategic decision-making and maintain Moventum’s market leadership.
- Partner with Marketing to enhance brand visibility and ensure effective regional lead generation.

Performance & Strategic Execution

- Constantly evaluate customers against business unit objectives, carefully scrutinizing usage behaviors, payment history and overall profitability.
- Translate business unit goals into actionable regional sales plans, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy.
- Track and analyze performance metrics, adjusting tactics to meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets.
- Provide regular reporting and insight to the Vice President of Sales, highlighting opportunities, risks, and progress toward strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, ideally within truck rental, fleet management, equipment leasing, or transportation sectors.
- Proven track record of revenue growth and new market development.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and building scalable sales operations.

- High level of competence with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI).

Travel Requirements

- Travel up to 50% of the time required nationally.

Compensation/Benefits

The hiring range for this role is: $165,000-$180,000 base plus commission. This role is classified as exempt for purposes of applicable wage and hour laws, which means that the individual hired will not be eligible for overtime pay.

Sasser is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Pay ranges are assigned to a job based on market data according to 3rd party salary benchmarking surveys. Actual base salary is dependent upon factors such as knowledge, skill level, and experience.
