About this role

The Small Airborne Effectors Division, within the Leidos Kinetic Effects Business Area, currently has an opportunity for a Flight Test and Integration Engineer Summer Intern to work at our Huntsville, AL campus providing support to a variety of programs related to missile systems and uncrewed aircraft.  This is a dynamic opportunity in which talented individuals can thrive working on a diverse array of multidisciplinary projects.  The Small Airborne Effectors Division is responsible for developing, testing, and producing small airborne missiles, autonomous systems, and payload effectors for a diverse set of customers including all branches of the US Military and Special Operations Forces.

Primary Responsibilities

- Support and contribute to multidisciplinary teams responsible for integrating and flight-testing new subsystems, payloads, and/or munitions
- Work in a lab environment contributing to test-related engineering tasks such as requirements traceability, regression testing, and system integration verification
- Collect, process, and analyze test data (telemetry, sensor logs, video, RF, GNSS, inertial data, etc.) to verify system performance against requirements
- Produce clear technical test reports, data summaries, anomaly investigations, and lessons-learned documentation

Basic Qualifications

- Applicant must be actively working toward a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
- Applicant must be a US Citizen
- Applicant must have an overall GPA of 3.2 or above
- Ability to perform physical work such as lifting up to 30-lbs
- Knowledge of and ability to use common hand tools
- Applicant must be willing to work in-office in Huntsville, AL

Preferred Qualifications

- Course background in aerospace disciplines (aerodynamics, propulsion, navigation, avionics, structures)
- Course background in instrumentation and test, including technical writing
- Mechatronics experience and familiarity with computer aided design tools across disciplines and programming/scripting languages (MATLAB, Solidworks, Python/Arduino, etc.)
- Participation in student design teams (Design/Build/Fly, rocketry, Formula SAE, robotics etc.)
- Experience with small autonomous aircraft (multi-rotor or fixed-wing) or autonomy hardware/software packages

## Pay Range:
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
