Job Summary
Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs and preventative maintenance activities on engines and related components at customer sites. The role is responsible for delivering timely, professional service by applying established troubleshooting procedures, specialized tools, service documentation, and safety standards. The technician works independently on routine service activities and escalates complex or unresolved issues to experienced technicians or supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner, understand their concerns, and ensure prompt and effective resolution of service needs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot engine-related issues using documented procedures, service publications, diagnostic software, electronic service tools, and specialized equipment.
- Perform less complex repairs, maintenance, disassembly, assembly, inspection, and replacement of engine components in accordance with Cummins and OEM guidelines.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities as per defined schedules, procedures, and quality standards.
- Identify required parts, tools, equipment, and resources before and during service activities to ensure efficient repair completion.
- Validate completed repairs by confirming that the original customer concern has been resolved and that the product is operating as required.
- Analyze interactions between electrical and mechanical engine systems, including fuel, cooling, exhaust, aftertreatment, sensors, controls, and related components.
- Escalate unresolved or technically complex issues to experienced Field Service Technicians or supervisors, providing clear troubleshooting history and relevant technical information.
- Complete accurate service documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality records, and service management system updates.
- Identify additional service opportunities and communicate relevant customer needs to support service excellence and business growth.
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
- Complete required technical and business training to continuously develop product and service capabilities.
- Follow all applicable Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation; proactively identify and report hazards, incidents, and safety concerns.
Candidate should have minimum 5 years of field experience.
Should have 3yrs Diploma in Electrical & Electronics
Should have basis computer knowledge ( able to work on MS office( i.e Word, Excel, Advance Excel, Power point , Power BI. Etc)
Should have good communication skill ( Verbal & written)
Should have experience on Cummins engines with good knowledge of Cummins software tools (i.e. INSITE, INPOWER, C-View Etc,)
Should have good troubleshooting skill.
Should be comfortable with travelling & relocations across India.
More weightage for working experience of constructions, infra & Marine equipment.
