Who You Are:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Life Enrichment (Activities) Coordinator. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Life Enrichment Director, the Life Enrichment Coordinator will organize, plan, and implement activities that provide quality entertainment, socialization, mental and physical stimulation, and overall resident fulfillment. The Life Enrichment Coordinator will also demonstrate effective communication and intrapersonal skills when working with associates, residents, families, and vendors at Longhorn Village. The Life Enrichment Coordinator is to provide support to the events coordinator by carrying out the established program for resident activities and recreation.

Accountabilities :

- Supports the Life Enrichment Director role, including implementation of events and activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, special events, and one-to-one visits, as indicated.

- Assists with preparation and maintaining of all necessary records, including: resident attendance, monthly calendars based on resident input, assessments and interests, inventory records, resident council minutes and response forms, volunteer records, etc.

- Assists with securing materials and equipment as necessary well in advance of scheduled dates.

- Maintains a safe activity environment through procurement, preventative maintenance, cleaning, storage of supplies and equipment.

- Assists in coordination of community sponsored travel/trips/outings.

- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the department and community.

- Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications

- High school graduation or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Possesses ability to lead and perform tasks individually. Must be capable of functioning independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.

- Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with general computer proficiency.

- Maintain valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
