How will you make an impact?
Support the Quality Engineering team by providing technical assistance for manufacturing-related quality issues, driving corrective and preventive actions, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring products meet customer and regulatory requirements. Serve as a key resource in product inspections, root cause investigations, quality documentation, and process compliance activities.
What will you do?
- Inspect, measure, and test mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components and assemblies.
- Verify material conformance to specifications and interpret company and industry standards.
- Gather and maintain technical records related to materials, tools, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
- Prepare Quality Alerts and visual work instructions to support identification of non-conforming material.
- Perform in-process inspections and audits and log results for analysis and reporting.
- Collect records, photographs, and supporting documentation to prepare customer data packages for production batches.
- Assist inspectors as the first point of contact for quality defects and manufacturing issues.
- Review defect samples and verify the effectiveness of containment and purge activities.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians and inspectors.
- Collect and analyze quality data using statistical analysis methods.
- Assist Quality Engineers with follow-up activities related to Deviations, Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Review non-conforming materials and products to support disposition and corrective actions.
- Support root cause investigations and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.
- Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline is a plus.
Experience:
- Two to five years of related quality, manufacturing, inspection, or engineering support experience.
- Experience performing inspections, audits, and quality documentation activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting Quality Engineers and corrective action initiatives preferred.
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of inspection techniques and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to inspect, measure, and test components and assemblies accurately.
- Familiarity with non-conforming material control and corrective action processes.
- Ability to collect, organize, and maintain technical records and quality documentation.
- Experience performing audits, inspections, and quality data collection.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and quality improvement tools.
- Ability to support CAPA, ECN, and other quality system processes.
- Basic understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify defects, investigate issues, and support root cause analysis activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, inspectors, technicians, engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with limited supervision.
- Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
- US Citizenship is required to work at this specific site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- Experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries.
- Experience with CAPA, non-conformance investigations, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of IPC standards, AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality systems.
- Experience using measurement and inspection equipment.
- Experience preparing customer data packages and quality documentation.
- Experience training or mentoring technicians or inspectors.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality data analysis.
