Job Description:

Joining The American Red Cross is like nothing else – it’s as much something you feel as something you do. You become a vital part of the world’s largest humanitarian network. Joining a team of welcoming individuals who are exceptional, yet unassuming. Diverse, yet uncompromising in unity. You grow your career within a movement that matters, where success is measured in people helped, communities made whole, and individuals equipped to never stop changing lives and situations for the better.

When you choose to be a force for good, you’ll have mentors who empower your growth along a purposeful career path. You align your life’s work with an ongoing mission that’s bigger than all of us. As you care for others, you’re cared for with competitive compensation and benefits. You join a community that respects who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

As a $3 billion organization with more than 17,000 employees and thousands of dedicated volunteers, the American Red Cross depends on people with diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives to advance its mission. Together, we provide relief and support during crises, help communities prepare and respond to emergencies, and ensure access to lifesaving blood and resources.

The Supply Management organization plays a critical role in supporting this mission by ensuring the effective sourcing, delivery, and supplier management of the goods and services the Red Cross depends on every day. Increasingly, our ability to make sound decisions depends on our ability to transform data into timely, accurate, and actionable business intelligence.

The Data Analyst I, Business Intelligence supports this work by collecting, organizing, analyzing and visualizing data to help Supply Management understand performance, identify trends and opportunies, and make better-informed decisions. Working with Supply Management leaders, category teams, business stakeholders and cross-functional partners, this position helps translate business questions into meaningful analysis, reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Management Analytics, the Data Analyst I works to strengthen the organization’s use of data and business intelligence. The Analyst supports recurring and ad hoc reporting, develops and maintains dashboards and performance metrics, performs data validation and analysis, and helps turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership.

This is an opportunity for an early-career analyst to develop technical and business intelligence capabilities while gaining exposure to procurement, suppliers, contracts, financial performance, operations, and enterprise decision-making. The successful candidate will bring curiosity, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and an interest in understanding not simply what the data says, but what it means for business and the mission.

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States.

The Data Analyst I, Business Intelligence provides analytical, reporting, and business intelligence support to the Supply Management organization. The position works with data from multiple sources to develop reports, dashboards, metrics, and analyses that improve visibility into business performance and support planning and decision-making.

The Analyst assists in collecting, validating, organizing, and analyzing data; identifying trends, patterns, exceptions, and data-quality issues; and translating analytical findings into clear information for business stakeholders. The role may support analyses involving procurement spend, sourcing activity, supplier performance, contract negotiation, savings and value delivery, operational performance, market information, budgets, risks, and other Supply Management priorities.

Working under the guidance of management and more senior analysts, the Data Analyst I also supports the development and continuous improvement of business intelligence tools, reporting processes, data standards, and performance metrics. The position collaborates with business stakeholders and technical partners to understand information needs, improve data integrity, and help create scalable and repeatable analytical solutions.
