Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Applied AI & Data Science is responsible for identifying high-value business opportunities and translating them into practical artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics solutions. This role develops predictive models, AI agents and lead-generation capabilities; partners with business leaders to define and prioritize use cases; and guides solutions from discovery through secure, responsible implementation. The position serves as a hands-on technical leader and trusted advisor, connecting business strategy, data and emerging technology to deliver measurable outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to identify, define and prioritize opportunities where AI, data science and advanced analytics can improve growth, client experience, decision-making, productivity or risk management.
- Develop, validate and maintain predictive models, including propensity, segmentation, lead-scoring and next-best-action solutions.
- Build AI agents, copilots and intelligent workflows that reduce manual effort and support knowledge-intensive business processes.
- Create lead-generation and customer analytics solutions using transaction, behavioral, demographic and other relevant data.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches, requirements, success measures and implementation plans.
- Lead discovery sessions, communicate findings and present recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging AI, machine learning and analytics tools, platforms and vendor capabilities.
- Partner with Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, Compliance and other stakeholders to support secure, responsible and compliant deployment.
- Establish repeatable development practices for documentation, testing, performance monitoring and ongoing model or solution improvement.
- Mentor analysts and data scientists, promote reusable methods and help strengthen AI and analytics capabilities across the organization.
Education & Experience
Knowledge of:
- Predictive modeling, machine learning, statistical analysis, segmentation and model evaluation techniques.
- Generative AI, large language models, AI agents and workflow automation concepts.
- Python and SQL; experience with R or comparable analytical languages is beneficial.
- Model development, deployment, monitoring, documentation and MLOps practices.
- Data governance, model risk management, responsible AI and information security principles.
- Customer analytics, lead generation, campaign measurement and test-and-learn methodologies.
Ability to:
- Connect business strategy and operational challenges to practical AI and analytics solutions.
- Work independently across the full solution lifecycle, from discovery and prototyping through implementation and monitoring.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business leaders and translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
- Influence priorities and build trusted partnerships across business, technology, risk and control functions.
- Balance innovation, speed, feasibility, explainability and risk in a regulated environment.
- Lead multiple initiatives, manage ambiguity and focus work on measurable business value.
- Coach others and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related quantitative field required; master's degree preferred.
- Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics or applied AI.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing predictive models and data-driven business solutions.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, AI agents, copilots or intelligent workflow solutions preferred.
- Experience in banking, financial services or another regulated industry preferred.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or providing technical leadership and mentorship preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
(Base Pay Range: $120,000-160,000/year )
