About this role

The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, scalable, sustainable, and secure technology solutions that meet business requirements. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of solutions.

The Solutions Architect will work closely with department heads to ensure that the technology solutions proposed align with the museum's overall goals and operational needs.

Primary Responsibilities

Architecture & Build

- Design end-to-end technical solutions that align with business goals and technical standards. 
- Develop architectural blueprints, diagrams, and documentation. 
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and cost effective. 
- Build and implement solutions directly, including scripts, automations and integrations

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work with Museum stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. 
- Present solution designs to stakeholders and guide decision-making.

Technology Leadership

- Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and tools. 
- Provide technical guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle. 
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and Technology governance.

Project Support

- Support project planning, estimation, and risk assessment. 
- Participate in code reviews and quality assurance processes. 
- Troubleshoot and resolve architectural and integration issues.

Documentation & Standards

- Maintain detailed documentation of solutions, architecture decisions, and system integrations. 
- Promote best practices in software development and system design. 
Additional & Occasional Duties
- Contribute to the museum's overall Technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives. 
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation 
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the museum to ensure Technology solutions meet evolving business needs. 
- Conduct periodic architecture reviews to ensure ongoing alignment with museum goals and industry best practices.  
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, such as writing communications or giving presentations on the museum's digital transformation journey. 
- Participate in cross-functional steering committees for major museum initiatives that have significant technology components.  
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or related field. 
- 5+ years of experience in software architecture, systems design, or solution engineering. 
- Proven track record in leading enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives 
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, microservices, and enterprise systems. 
- Strong background in change management and user adoption strategies 
- Microsoft Certifications desired: 
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert 
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate 
- Claude Certified Architect – Professional Certification Preferred. 
- Expertise in using AI to build solutions preferred 
Knowledge skill or abilities
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform  
- Strong understanding of information architecture and content management principles 
- Experience with cloud security and compliance  
- Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills 
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal 
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders 
- Ability to demonstrate hands-on work (code samples, prior builds, or technical exercise) during interviews. 
- Proficiency in PowerShell for Microsoft 365 automation and administration.

- Fixed compensation of $170,000-$180,000 per annum
