Job Summary:

Oversees daily operations of Brookshire’s World of Wildlife Museum and party annex. Manages partner schedules, group tours and parties. Oversees facility maintenance, security, and visitor occupancy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Carries out management responsibilities by interviewing, hiring, training, and developing partners; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining partners; scheduling; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Evaluates need for purchases, repair and maintenance needs regarding equipment, restrooms, and general facility.
- Prepares weekly event schedules, work schedules, and ad-hoc reports.
- Greets museum visitors and maintains visitor logbook.
- Offers guests a brief overview of the museum, the Brookshire family, and Brookshire Grocery Company.
- Answers phone calls, make reservations for parties and coordinates school group tours.
- Maintains upkeep and appearance of the museum and party annex. Answers related questions.
- Assists with the marketing and promotion of the museum.
- Coordinates and monitors children's activities.
- Monitors and assesses the condition of museum equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage time.
- Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
- Basic knowledge of cash register and processing transactions.
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

- High school Diploma or GED required.
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.

Physical Demands:

- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
- Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, or squat.
- Occasionally required to stand or walk.
- Attendance at work is required.

Work Context and Environment:

- Work is generally performed in an office, museum, and annex environment.
- Occasionally exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
- Occasionally exposed to cleaning agents.
- Noise level varies.
