About this role

Franklin University is seeking a part-time student employee to work up to 19 hours per week in the Learning Commons. The position provides in-person support to students, staff, and faculty during operating hours, including evenings until 6 p.m. Applicants must be enrolled in Franklin University courses to be eligible.

Student Assistants complete daily opening and closing procedures for the Learning Commons; help customers locate items and process resource requests; collect and report statistics; answer phone inquiries; and troubleshoot printer and copier issues. They also support the departments digitization efforts and assist staff with other projects as needed.

Qualifications:

- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality.

- Strong customer service skills.

- Creative thinking and proven problem-solving skills.

- Clear verbal and written communication skills.

- Skill in prioritizing multiple tasks and collaborating effectively within a team.

- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Capacity to learn new technologies, including the librarys catalog system and databases.

The candidate must possess a strong customer-centered philosophy and understand and agree with Franklin's relationship management principles and University values.
