Job Description
Manage, secure, and optimize the organization's on-premises and cloud server infrastructure, including Nutanix AHV, Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Veeam backup, infrastructure monitoring, and Microsoft Azure. The role focuses on reliable day-to-day operations, backup and disaster recovery readiness, security hardening, and automation of routine tasks using PowerShell or Python in an ITIL-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer Nutanix AHV clusters, including VM provisioning, patching, capacity planning, and cluster health.
- Manage Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory, including server builds, patching, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, and replication health.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers running RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu.
- Own Veeam backup and restore operations, including job configuration, restore testing, retention, and DR readiness.
- Manage Azure infrastructure, including VMs, storage, networking, backup, and cost governance, and support a small Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) footprint.
- Maintain infrastructure monitoring in PRTG, including sensors, thresholds, alerting, and dashboards.
- Automate provisioning, patching, and reporting using PowerShell or Python.
- Manage incidents, requests, changes, and problems in line with ITIL practices and agreed SLAs, and maintain runbooks and documentation.
- Participate in maintenance windows, upgrades, and the on-call rotation.
- Support security hardening and vulnerability remediation across server and cloud infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in server and cloud infrastructure administration.
- Production experience with Nutanix AHV.
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory administration skills.
- Working knowledge of Linux server administration.
- Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, including restores and DR drills.
- Monitoring experience with PRTG or an equivalent tool.
- Demonstrated experience managing Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and backup.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python.
- ITIL certification and experience working in an ITIL-aligned environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or Citrix.
- Exposure to VMware, OCI, or cloud migration projects.
- Experience with FreshService or similar ITSM platforms.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE).
Educational Qualification: BE/B.Tech/BCA/MCA, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
