Manager Data and Analytics
Full Time Permanent
Salary: $133,400 - $200,100. plus 15% annual bonus
Way of Work : Hybrid - 3 days on location

This role provides the opportunity to lead and develop a technical analytics team while helping shape and build new analytics capabilities across NiSource.
NiSource is one of the largest fully regulated utility companies in the U.S., serving millions of customers across six states. Our Data & Analytics organization is a growing advanced analytics function focused on using data, analytics, and emerging technologies to solve some of the company’s highest-value business and customer challenges.
We’re looking for a Manager of Data and Analytics to lead and develop a technical analytics team supporting Customer Solutions across marketing, products and services, Voice of the Customer, digital channels, and the customer contact center.
This role is more than managing analytics projects. You’ll help build new analytics capabilities from the ground up, coach and grow technical talent, and work closely with business leaders, Product Owners, IT, and data teams to turn complex customer and business questions into solutions people can actually use. At its core, this role sits at the intersection of people leadership, analytics, technology, and the business.
Over the next year, this team will be launching several new analytics initiatives, creating an exciting opportunity to help shape new capabilities, establish best practices, and influence how analytics solutions are developed and delivered.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Lead & Grow the Team
- Coach, develop, and retain analytics talent
- Build technical capabilities across the team
- Create meaningful development and career plans
- Foster an inclusive culture built around trust, curiosity, accountability, and collaboration
- Help the team balance priorities while keeping employees engaged and focused
Turn Ideas into Analytics Solutions
- Lead technical resources working within an Agile delivery model
- Manage team capacity across multiple analytics priorities and new initiatives
- Remove technical and organizational roadblocks
- Ensure analytics solutions are accurate, reliable, scalable, maintainable, and appropriately governed
- Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, IT, and data teams throughout delivery
Connect Analytics to Real Business & Customer Outcomes
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations leaders can act on
- Help stakeholders understand the story behind the data
- Ensure analytics solutions are adopted and generating measurable business or customer value
- Bring technical analytics expertise into conversations with business leaders and Product Owners
Help Shape How Analytics Gets Done
- Drive continuous improvement across analytics practices
- Establish reusable technical standards and analytics practices
- Strengthen analytics governance and quality
- Partner across IT and Data & Analytics on platforms, architecture, data quality, and technical roadmaps
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in data and analytics, including data analysis, business intelligence, data science, data engineering, data governance, or related disciplines
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with analytics tools and technology (Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, data governance tools, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience leading people, technical teams, projects, or analytics delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced analytics development and support
- Data governance implementation
- Multiple data or analytics domains
- Agile delivery models
- Customer analytics, including call centers, digital channels, marketing, products and services, or Voice of the Customer
- Utilities or another regulated industry
