Description
Logistics Manager
CRP Industries is seeking a hands-on, results-oriented Logistics Manager to lead our inbound freight operation. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role manages domestic and international shipments from purchase order release through final delivery and receipt.
The Logistics Manager will work across suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, Purchasing, Inventory Planning, Warehouse Operations, Accounting, and other internal teams to improve shipment visibility, control freight costs, resolve exceptions, and support reliable product availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound orders end-to-end.
- Maintain accurate purchase order, shipment, delivery, and tracking information
- Select transportation modes and routes.
- Consolidate freight and negotiate competitive rates and service levels with carriers, forwarders, and brokers.
- Coordinate customs clearance, duties, tariffs, import documentation, HTSUS classification, and compliance requirements.
- Establish clear routing, documentation, communication, and escalation expectations.
- Identify and resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, claims, receiving issues, and freight-invoice errors.
- Monitor logistics performance.
- Develop contingency plans for transportation disruptions, port delays, customs holds, capacity shortages, and other supply-chain risks.
- Standardize and improve logistics processes.
- Lead and develop assigned logistics staff.

- ERP and shipment-tracking data are accurate, current, and trusted.
- Customs and import requirements are managed accurately and proactively.
- Shipment risks and exceptions are identified early and resolved promptly.
- Suppliers and logistics providers meet clear expectations.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 10 years minimum progressive experience in inbound transportation, freight, logistics, or supply-chain operations.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international transportation, including ocean, air, truckload, less-than-truckload, parcel, and intermodal services.
- Working knowledge of customs brokerage, import documentation, duties, tariffs, HTSUS classification and Incoterms. Experience with the CTPAT program. Familiarity with FTZ operation a plus.
- Experience with ERP, WMS, transportation-management, shipment-tracking, reporting, and data-analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage service providers, lead employees, influence cross-functional partners, and deliver measurable results.

Salary Description
