With the launch of our new vet clinics in early 2024, we are looking for a full-time Veterinary Team Lead to join our Chewy Vet Care Practice Team. What You'll Do:
- Responsible for supporting the paraprofessional staff in implementing the outlined policies and procedures, utilizing integrated technology, and managing the practice operational functions and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture to work collaboratively with your peers and deliver the pet parent WOW experience.
- Work with Practice Manager to provide continuous development for the practice team. Veterinary Team Lead will partner with Practice Manager to build Skill Growth plans for Para-staff and own the technical skill training execution and progress tracking.
- Operate as the site leader in absence of the Practice Manager.
- Lead team coordination of inventory cycle counts and fulfill inventory needs requests.
- Engage with clients to ensure they receive excellent treatment and immediately resolve any conflicts or complaints.
- Cover for staffing gaps in Practice as needed working in treatment, surgery and rooms.
- Ensure the equipment preventative maintenance cycles are completed on time.
- Guide the team in following the practice’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC); review SOPs and practice metrics to help guide the team in improving their performance.
- Resolve and de-escalate client concerns and work with Practice Manager to provide coaching to team members as needed.
- Be a PIMS administrative super-user and provide assistance to others on the team in their use of the technology.
- Participation in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
- Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.
- Position may require some travel.
What you’ll need :
- Successful completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure is preferred.
- Experience mentoring and leading others.
- Demonstrated ability to complete the veterinary technician skills checklist for Veterinary Technician III
- 5+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in practice is preferred.
- Strong ability to connect with clients and demonstrate empathy and compassion.
- Ability to manage conflict resolution.
- Excellent verbal / written communication, observational, and analytical skills
- Thrives in a fast paced, self-starter environment.
Physical job requirements:
- Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
- Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
- Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
