The Westerner has been serving customers since the 1960s and is known for loyal customers, experienced staff, and high-quality food and service.
Main Duties
- Scrape food scraps into trash before loading dishes.
- Remove all fruit, ice, straws and any debris from glasses
- Sort items by type (plates, utensils, glassware).
- Load racks correctly so water can reach all surfaces.
- Monitor water temperature and detergent levels.
- Unload and inspect dishes to ensure they are completely clean.
- Use the glassware dryer and properly store clean items.
- Keep the dish station clean and organized throughout your shift.
- Set up and break down nightly
- Run glassware when needed
Ideal Candidate does:
- Stay ahead of the rush. During busy periods, continuously move dishes through the machine rather than letting them pile up.
- Organize as you go. Keep separate areas for dirty dishes, clean dishes, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
- Work safely.
Wear non-slip shoes.
- Use gloves when handling chemicals.
- Be careful with knives and broken glass.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Able to work quickly without sacrificing cleanliness.
- Comfortable standing for long periods.
- A team player.
- Willing to learn and help wherever needed.
Additional Responsibilities for This Job
Besides dishwashing, you'll also help with food running when needed:
- Help run food to customers.
- Assist with food preparation tasks.
- Sweep, mop, take out trash, and break down boxes.
- Follow health department sanitation standards.
- Remain calm and productive during busy Friday and Saturday evening shifts
