Role Overview

The AVP, Human Resources, Commercial - Americas, will serve as a strategic HR leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive HR strategies and initiatives that support the growth and operational excellence of Van Cleef & Arpels' retail boutique network across the Americas. This role will lead a team of four HR professionals, providing expert guidance and support to approximately 32 retail boutiques, with a strong focus on development, employee relations, and fostering a high-performance culture as the Maison continues its expansion. The AVP will act as a trusted advisor to retail leadership, ensuring HR practices are aligned with business objectives and the unique values of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership & Partnership:

- Develop and implement HR strategies and programs that align with the overall business objectives of Van Cleef & Arpels, Americas, particularly supporting the growth plans for the retail boutique population.
- Serve as a strategic partner and advisor to retail leadership on all HR-related matters, including organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and change management.
- Translate business needs into effective HR solutions and initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four HR professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR team, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of HR partnership and support to the retail population.
- Provide guidance and support to the team on complex HR issues, professional development, and career growth.
- Contribute to the Americas HR Team as a key leader and thought partner.

Talent Management & Acquisition:

- Oversee the full talent lifecycle for the retail boutique population, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
- Partner with retail leadership to identify current and future talent needs, developing proactive strategies to attract, retain, and develop top-tier retail professionals.
- Ensure a consistent and exceptional candidate and employee experience that reflects the luxury brand image of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and compliance with all relevant labor laws.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention within the retail network.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that embodies the Maison's values and culture.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Collaborate with the broader HR team on compensation and benefits strategies, ensuring competitive and equitable practices for the retail population.
- Provide input on salary benchmarking, incentive programs, and benefits offerings relevant to the luxury retail market.

HR Operations & Compliance:

- Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations across all operating states.
- Oversee HR data management, reporting, and analytics to inform decision-making and track HR effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems.

Organizational Development & Culture:

- Support organizational development initiatives, including change management, team effectiveness, and leadership development programs for retail management.
- Champion the Van Cleef & Arpels culture, ensuring it is consistently reflected in HR practices and employee experiences.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing a team.
- Extensive experience supporting a multi-unit retail environment, preferably within the luxury sector, with a strong understanding of retail operations and challenges.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results and support organizational growth.
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across the Americas region.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to HR.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

Expected Salary Range: $235,000-255,000

Salary will be determined based on relevant skills and experience.
