As an Air Logistics Healthcare Operational Care Specialist, you will coordinate healthcare shipments from an operational perspective, ensuring they move accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements and healthcare industry standards. You will work closely with carriers, gateways, warehouses, customs teams, Customer Care, and other internal partners to manage bookings, documentation, shipment monitoring, and exception handling.
This role requires previous healthcare or pharmaceutical logistics experience. Air freight experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with a strong healthcare logistics background in another transportation environment may also be considered.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Atlanta, GA.
## How you create impact
You will manage the day-to-day operational execution of healthcare shipments while ensuring service, compliance, and transit requirements are met.
- Coordinate healthcare shipments from booking through delivery
- Execute bookings with carriers, partners, and gateways
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipment documentation
- Monitor shipments and provide timely updates in Kuehne+Nagel systems
- Identify and manage shipment delays, deviations, and operational exceptions
- Coordinate with carriers, gateways, warehouses, customs teams, Customer Care, and other internal partners
- Ensure healthcare shipments are handled using qualified and approved suppliers
- Follow applicable healthcare, GxP, regulatory, and Kuehne+Nagel operational requirements
- Document deviations and support investigations and corrective actions when required
- Review shipment instructions for routing, transit time, rate, regulatory, or documentation discrepancies
- Support cost management and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
- Maintain required healthcare and HealthChain training
- Communicate with customers regarding operational shipment questions, documentation, and exceptions
## What we would like you to bring
You bring previous healthcare or pharmaceutical logistics experience and understand the importance of accuracy, compliance, and consistent execution when managing sensitive shipments. You are organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working across multiple teams, and able to manage operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous healthcare or pharmaceutical logistics experience is required
- Experience in freight forwarding, transportation, airline operations, or a similar logistics environment
- Air freight experience is strongly preferred
- Air import experience is a plus
- Understanding of shipment documentation, routing, tracking, and exception management
- Knowledge of healthcare logistics requirements and regulated shipment environments
- Ability to coordinate effectively with carriers, vendors, warehouses, customs teams, and internal stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to process compliance
- Ability to identify and resolve operational issues
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Team-oriented and service-focused approach

This position has an anticipated salary range of $65,000 to $71,500 annually . Base pay is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles.
Individual pay may vary within the range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
