Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
- Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education
- Evaluates care given by staff, coaches to improve care, ensures standard of care is maintained
- Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel
- Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care
- Demonstrates appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations
Job Requirements
Required
- Associates Of Science Nursing
- Two years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse Experience
- Registered Nurse: AZ
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
- American Heart AssociationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support
- American Heart AssociationPediatric Advanced Life Support
- Trauma Nurse Core Course, within twelve (12) months
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, within twelve (12) months
- Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, within twelve (12) months
- Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course within twelve (12) months
