Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Electro-Optical Lead Systems Engineer to join the Optical Systems Engineering team! We are looking for a highly motivated Electro-Optical Lead Systems Engineer to become a member of the Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) and drive requirements and verification through all system design reviews to sell-off. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end development, maintenance, and governance of the requirements for Electro-Optical designs across the program lifecycle, from preliminary design through deployment. As part of the systems group you will lead a team in the development and management of specifications, requirements and verification material, interface documents, and related engineering documents. This will leading coordination of the systems team across multiple geographically distributed sites and interacting with the larger program team, sub-contractor teams, customer team, and management.

Your responsibilities in this role will include the following:

* Be a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team designing, building, and deploying the system.
* Plan and manage the systems engineering work, and lead team to success.
* Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and subject‑matter experts to develop, analyze, and verify system requirements and interfaces and document & manage accordingly.
* Oversee technical execution of component needs as well as drive cross-functional groups to deliver solutions to meet system and customer requirements.
* Coordinate with engineering to execute verification analyses and tests.
* Participate in and drive system engineering, analysis, and integration activities,
* Organize/coordinate/develop system compliance objective evidence creation and documentation.
* Support organization and coordination of system design reviews.

Basic Qualifications

* Experienced leading teams with complex, competing priorities maximizing success across multiple objectives and constraints
* Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) including experience with Cameo or similar.
* Experience with requirements management and verification (including requirement engineering, requirements management, verification and validation, test planning)
* Producing and maintaining ICDs
* Understanding of systems architecture, interface control, and requirement traceability concepts.
* Excellent communication skills—able to produce clear documentation and present technical information to diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multi‑disciplinary teams and influence without direct authority.
* DoD TS required

Desired Skills

* Bachelors degree (or higher) in Systems Engineering or STEM discipline
* Experience with space-based electro-optical payload systems and their sub-systems and components; including design, development, testing; EO/IR, RF, electro-optical, sensor, laser, spacecraft, and ground systems
* Knowledge of industry-standard verification methodologies as well as tools such as IBM DOORS or equivalent
* Familiarity with traceability between requirements, design, verification and objective evidence
* Experience with reviewing and evaluating verification Objective Evidence and collaborating with engineering design teams to identify and resolve verification issues
* Prior experience with planning and execution of major milestone reviews (such as SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
* Knowledge of systems engineering for full space mission architectures, including both space and ground segments
* Experience with new mission and system architecture development, concept development, and technology maturation.
* Familiarity with one or more of the following: electronics and FPGA technical experience, electro-optical sensor system technical experience, space-based systems technical experience
* Experience working with multi-disciplinary technical and/or engineering teams
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Experience in programs ranging from Class A to Class D development environments
* Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
