About this role
Tesla is hiring a Field Readiness Specialist on the Operations Enablement team. The team is accountable for making sure Energy Service technicians are ready to work. Technicians and field managers bring gaps to you. You turn those gaps into clear requests for Tooling, Safety, and Warehouse, then check that the work is done before you close it. You also confirm that parts, training, and system access are in place before a new market, product, or operating center opens.
- Turn tickets from technicians and field managers into requests for Tooling, Safety & Warehouse with an owner, a due date, and action completion
- Recommend minimum and maximum stocking levels for both regular service and campaigns. Review those levels each week and each month across distribution centers, operating centers, and vans while flagging shortages before technicians run out of parts
- Regularly audit Tooling inventory against the system. Count stock, match kit serials to start dates, and confirm completion before you accept the result. Track on-hand inventory for those same parts and raise coverage risk to the Enablement lead
- Twice a year, confirm the uniform roster matches the current org and that garment categories are correct, then send gaps to the uniform program owner
- Confirm required training and certifications are complete before a technician is dispatched and occasionally observe training
- Before a new market or operating center opens, confirm kits, training seats, and system access with evidence rather than a verbal update
- Conduct on site visits, review safety practice at operating centers and distribution centers. Send repeat misses to the Operational Excellence analyst for the enablement scorecard, and separate a Tooling miss from a process miss
- Degree in Operations Management, or equivalent experience
- Experience with inventory, parts, or service systems, including time spent checking the data against what was on the shelf or in the truck
- Experience tracking work to a due date and closing it only after the fix was confirmed, not when someone said it was done
- Writing that a partner team can act on without a follow-up call, and follow-through until the item closes
- Excellent organizational skills, judgment on what to escalate and what to watch, and experience working with field leaders and teams you do not directly manage
- Ability to travel, up to two weeks at a time to various sites, operating centers, and warehouses across America, as needed by the business. Not to exceed 25% of the year
- A valid driver license
