Position Summary

The Social Media & Influencer Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing organic social media and influencer strategies that build brand awareness, strengthen community engagement and support client business objectives.

This is a strategic, client-facing role that combines social media strategy, content development, creator partnerships and trend identification. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of social media platforms, a passion for creating engaging content and an interest in building authentic relationships with creators and online communities. They should be naturally curious about what’s happening across social, understand how content performs on different platforms and be able to turn trends and insights into ideas that are relevant for clients.

This person should be equally comfortable developing a social strategy, building a content calendar, writing copy, identifying and managing influencer partnerships and analyzing social media performance.

The Social Media + Influencer Manager will work closely with the rest of the public relations team as well as paid media and create account teams.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy

- Develop and execute organic social media strategies aligned with client brand, marketing, and business objectives.

- Develop platform-specific strategies for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging social platforms based on audience behavior, platform trends, and client goals.

- Build strategic content calendars that balance planned campaigns, evergreen storytelling, cultural moments, trends, and real-time opportunities.

- Stay current on platform updates, algorithms, emerging content formats, audience behaviors, and cultural trends.

- Develop recommendations for growing audience engagement, community participation, and overall social presence.

- Establish and monitor social and influencer KPIs aligned with client objectives.

- Analyze platform and campaign performance to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Content Development

- Develop and write compelling, platform-specific social content.

- Concept social-first content across formats including Reels, short-form video, Stories, carousels, static content, and LinkedIn posts.

- Develop executive social content and thought leadership, particularly for LinkedIn.

- Create creative briefs and provide strategic direction for photography, video, graphic design, and other social content.

- Collaborate with creative teams, photographers, videographers, designers, and other partners to bring social concepts to life.

Content & Storytelling

- Develop ideas that can work across PR, social media, influencers, creators, events, and other communications channels.

- Write compelling social copy tailored to individual platforms and audiences.

- Translate complex information into accessible, engaging stories.

- Turn earned media placements into engaging social content.

- Identify social conversations and trends that could become earned media opportunities.

- Develop executive thought-leadership content, particularly for LinkedIn.

- Collaborate with creative teams on photography, graphics, video, reels, short-form video, and other social-first content.

- Develop creative briefs and provide strategic direction for social content development.

Influencer & Creator Relations

- Develop and execute influencer and creator strategies aligned with client objectives and broader social strategies.

- Research and identify relevant influencers and creators based on audience, content, engagement, credibility, relevance, and brand alignment.

- Build and maintain relationships with influencers, creators, and content partners.

- Develop outreach strategies and manage creator communications from initial contact through campaign execution.

- Develop creator campaign concepts and briefs that establish clear objectives while allowing creators to maintain an authentic voice.

- Coordinate influencer and creator partnerships, including product seeding, gifting, events, experiences, and content collaborations.

- Evaluate creator performance and campaign results to inform future recommendations.

- Stay current on emerging creators, influencer trends, platform developments, and evolving best practices.

Education & Experience Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, digital media, advertising, or a related field preferred.

- Equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience will be considered.

- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in public relations, social media, communications, or integrated marketing; agency experience preferred.

- Demonstrated experience developing and executing organic social media strategies.

- Demonstrated experience managing influencer or creator relationships and campaigns.

- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, projects, deadlines, and priorities.

- Ability to think strategically while also being comfortable executing day-to-day work.

- Strong client communication and presentation skills.

- Experience with social listening, influencer marketing platforms, content creation tools, or AI-enabled communications tools is a plus.
