Compensation
Salary Range: $47.18 - $64.90 per hour
The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Responsibilities
Position Overview: The Clinical Imaging Applications Analyst coordinates all aspects of enterprise image management and imaging web services. Manages, administers, and maintains the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA), cardiology dictation and reporting systems, radiation dose management systems, and other clinical imaging applications as directed by the manager and based on business needs. Maintains imaging integration with the organization’s electronic medical record (EMR) system. Participates in standard information technology (IT) service management processes and is responsible for the software lifecycle management of assigned imaging applications. Acts as a liaison between Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, and other departments supported by medical imaging initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Five (5) years of experience as a Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) Administrator or in a comparable imaging software administrator role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skills in reading and working with Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) and Health Level Seven (HL7)
- Understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking concepts
- Imaging informatics certification (e.g., PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association [PARCA] CPAS/CPSA or Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine [SIIM] Certified Imaging Informatics Professional [CIIP])
- California Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Certification (CRT)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides proactive maintenance and support for imaging systems across all facilities and imaging service locations. Monitors digital image quality and enforces quality control (QC) policies and procedures for all imaging modalities.
- Oversees image workflow and interface operations between imaging systems, the Radiology Information System (RIS), and the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Provides technical assistance and remotely delivered training to medical staff, technologists, and radiologists.
- Develops training programs for medical imaging staff.
- Trains service desk staff on basic Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) troubleshooting and support to improve the first-call resolution ratio.
- Reviews and advises on the procurement of imaging equipment for Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) conformance.
- Maintains technical documentation of the PACS environment, including the modalities.
- Coordinates technical support for any DICOM-sending equipment.
- Works closely with the information security and networking groups to secure the PACS application and sending modalities.
- Consults on work in progress and completed work to ensure accuracy.
- Reviews current literature and attends meetings and seminars to remain informed of new developments in the field.
- Provides in-service education to other departments and medical staff on radiation safety and various radiologic and imaging procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
