Position Overview:

The Senior A&E Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and managing a profitable portfolio of large Architects & Engineers Professional Liability business, including large practice policies and project specific business. This role includes risk assessment, relationship management, and collaborating with brokers to deliver tailored insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze and underwrite new and renewal Architects & Engineers Professional Liability risks in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.

- Evaluate exposures, review applications, loss histories, and supplemental information to determine eligibility and pricing.

- Develop and maintain strong agency and broker relationships to drive business growth.

- Negotiate terms, coverage, and pricing to secure desirable new business and renewals.

- Collaborate with the underwriting team, claims, and actuarial departments to ensure sound risk management practices.

- Monitor portfolio performance and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.

- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.

- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry events as a representative of Twin Maples Specialty.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or related field (preferred).

- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in professional liability underwriting, with a focus on Architects & Engineers.

- Deep understanding of A&E risk exposures, insurance products, regulations, and underwriting methodologies.

- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
