Occupational Safety and Health Specialist, Mid
The Opportunity:

Provide technical and programmatic occupational safety and health (OSH) and safety management system (SMS) support to federal clients. Communicate and collaborate with client personnel at all organizational levels to identify, assess the risk of, and mitigate hazards that can adversely affect personnel safety and health, readiness, and client mission. Support OSH technical requirements review and development, regulatory reviews, policy, guidance, and standard operating procedure (SOP) review and development, onsite audits or inspections for OSH program and SMS compliance and generation of associated reports, organizing and facilitating technical discussions and reviews on OSH topics, delivering training on OSH topics, and OSH data analysis and reporting. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

- 10+ years of experience with OSH, including auditing and assessing workplaces for compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
- Experience with OSH regulatory and consensus standards such as 29 CFR 1910, 1926, and 1960, NFPA 70, 70E, and 101, and enterprise-level OSH policies and guidance
- Experience with safety management systems
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to produce technical resources and reports within established timeframes and in accordance with established quality standards
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or Science
- Graduate Safety Professional (GSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Certification

Nice If You Have:

- Experience with federal government agencies such as U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), U.S. Department of War (DoW), or U.S. Department of Interior (DOI)
- Experience developing, implementing, and assessing or auditing safety programs in a healthcare setting
- Experience in industrial hygiene, electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), fall protection, hazardous materials, hazard communication, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, personal protective equipment (PPE), construction safety, ergonomics, and life safety
- Experience with safety and risk management data and reporting systems
- Experience developing and delivering safety training on a variety of topics
- Experience with development and use of safety-related assessment tools, including artificial intelligence (AI) supported tools

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
