GENERAL SUMMARY : The Senior Legal Administrative Assistant will be responsible for performing legal assistant activities as well as executive level administrative activities in support of the operations of the Legal Department of the Alzheimers Association with the primary objective of helping the department operate effectively. The position requires someone who understands complex business-related legal documents as well as governmental filing applications, can work independently, and manage tight timelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

- Governmental Registrations : Engages in corporate governance, including working independently to prepare, for review by the General counsel, assumed name registrations, charitable solicitation registrations, business and raffle licenses; in so doing, interfaces with registered agents and outside consultants that assist with maintaining the Alzheimers Associations registrations in all 50 states and the District of Columbia; manages action plans to ensure all such registrations and licenses are timely filed;

- Insurance : Engages with internal stakeholders to secure the information necessary to independently prepare insurance applications for review by the General Counsel;

- Estate and Trusts : Assists the Associate General Counsel for Trust and Estates with preparing, processing and filing various trust and estate documents as well compiling reports on various trust and estate matters;

- Financial Matters: Processes the Legal Departments invoices; handles and processes expense reports and check requests;

- Document Preparation : Uses PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel and other programs in preparation of correspondence, documents and/or presentation; efficiently creates charts, graphs, tables and text slides; responsible for formatting consistency and accuracy on time-sensitive, high-profile documents;

- Filing : Establishes and maintains filing systems; classifies, sorts, and files correspondence, certificates of registration, trademark filings and other legal documents;

- Administrative Support : Performs special projects and support activities to assist the Department; coordinates meetings, calls and conferences; provides general high level day-to-day administrative support to the division.

Minimum Qualifications :

- Associates Degree or combination of equivalent experience and education

- 5+ years experience in a senior Administrative Assistant support role

- High level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required

- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

- Excellent telephone, writing and proofreading skills

- Must be self motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure

- Must have ability to work as part of team as well as to work independently

- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information

Desired Qualifications :

- Experience working in a legal setting is a plus

- Experience working in a non-profit setting is a plus

- Paralegal certificate is a plus

Position Grade & Compensation: Grade 506, non-exempt The Alzheimer's Associations good faith expectation for the annual pay range for this role is between $70,000-$83,000
