Insurance Business Manager

This position is responsible for achieving performance objectives as indicated in the Club's Insurance Performance Scorecard; i.e. meeting sales and member service objectives, ensuring the insurance operation is accurate, efficient and in compliance with Club standards through the development of an effective, high performing team. Position ensures understanding and compliance with standardized sales techniques and conducts associated training. Must be an exceptional leader who can motivate and develop sales and insurance service personnel.
Reporting to the Regional Manager or the DSU Group Manager, the Insurance Business Manager is accountable for achieving both quantitative and qualitative requirements by managing sales and service activities of the assigned team.

Job Duties

- Plan and direct all tasks related to attainment of sales goals. Monitor and improve the overall accuracy of new policies sold to protect and enhance the quality of the in-force policies.
- Proficient in mentoring Insurance Business Mangers in Aslan HPC (High-Performance Coaching).
- Plan and direct all related sales and service tasks to increase the Club’s acquisition and retention of net policyholder count. Ensure the “Successful Sales Calls” selling approach is adopted by the sales team and that the Club’s sales process is followed at all times. Maintain prescribed systems and programs for monitoring and controlling individual and team sales and service performance.
- Ensure the insurance operation complies with established member service standards. Ensure the assigned location maintains a high visual appearance standard and that display areas and all other business development areas are in compliance with marketing guidelines.
- Maximize productivity and member service in assigned location, ensuring that resources are effectively deployed. Analyze Member Satisfaction Index results; identify and address specific areas for improvement. Maintain ongoing dialog with member service employees and management, as well as support and direct activities to enhance inter-departmental relationships.
- Maintain staffing levels and contribute to effective recruitment processes in support of the Regional Sales Resource Center or Direct Sales unit recruitment needs. Train personnel on all new programs and changes that directly impact sales, member service, policy issuance and profitability objectives. Identify career path opportunities for all personnel, and provide guidance and mentoring to develop skills necessary for advancement.
- Communicate relevant and accurate information to the sales team via weekly team meetings, one-on-ones and training sessions. Provide relevant feedback in a timely manner to other sales teams and departments. Assume an active role in inter-departmental team meetings and other workshops. Compile reports and supply information to the Regional Manager or DSU Group Manager as required.
- Work provides an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurial creativity in managing the Field and Direct Sales insurance operations while maintaining and adhering to corporate initiatives and procedures. Occasionally, matters are reviewed with the Regional Manager and/or Sales Development Manager for guidance.

Qualifications

- Bachelors' Equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4-6 years Insurance sales Required
- 1-3 years Supervisory Preferred
- Advanced oral and written communication skills required
- Advanced knowledge of the SSC selling approach
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office software including, Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Previously demonstrated advanced level of competitive and persistent nature required
- Advanced leadership/managerial skills required
- Advanced organization skill required
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and assignments
- Valid Driver's License, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record and minimum liability insurance - Issued by State Required
- Property and Casualty Insurance License, valid in selling state - Issued by State Required
- Associate in General Insurance - Insurance Institute of America Required
- Aslan High Performance Sales Coaching and Performance - ASLAN Required

Travel Requirements

- Local travel by car to sales offices throughout assigned territory. (40% proficiency)
