Today, our presence spans across the globe, with offices in Asia, Europe, and South and North America. Our New York-based North American team began in 2014 and in 2017 acquired MAYA Design, a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab, to grow our capabilities around technology and design.
We support our clients’ total digital transformation through technology, design, cybersecurity, and risk management & financial engineering capabilities. And together with BCG, BCG Platinion’s interdisciplinary team of technical experts enable customized technical solutions and accelerate delivery value through new business platforms, application consolidations, and major system implementations.
What You'll Do
As a BCG Platinion Lead AI Tech Architect, you will help clients turn the potential of AI into scalable, production-ready technology solutions. You will work closely with client technology leaders and BCG teams to understand complex business and technology challenges, define AI and technology strategies, and design architectures that enable meaningful change.
You will provide technical direction and architecture leadership across complex AI initiatives, with particular focus on agentic processes and agentic product development lifecycles (PDLC). Drawing on deep architecture expertise and a strong understanding of hands-on implementation, you will guide teams through critical technology decisions and, when needed, provide hands-on support to validate approaches, solve complex technical challenges, or accelerate delivery.
- Lead the architecture of production-grade AI and agentic solutions, from initial design through implementation.
- Design agentic architectures incorporating orchestration, tool use, context and memory, guardrails, observability, and human oversight.
- Advise clients on architecture choices, technology trade-offs, integration patterns, scalability, security, resilience, and operational requirements.
- Lead complex technology architecture workstreams, translating business needs into clear architecture decisions, roadmaps, and implementation approaches.
- Guide initiatives involving agentic processes and agentic PDLC, drawing on experience leading comparable technology programs.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, platforms, frameworks, and architectural patterns and determine their suitability for specific client contexts.
- Provide technical direction to multidisciplinary teams while contributing with hands-on expertise when needed to validate designs or resolve complex challenges.
- Partner with client technology leaders and BCG colleagues to communicate architecture recommendations, build alignment, and support successful implementation.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in technology architecture, software engineering, digital delivery, or technology consulting.
- Proven experience leading and/or designing complex architecture projects involving agentic processes and/or agentic product development lifecycles (PDLC).
- Deep technical expertise across cloud architecture, distributed systems and microservices, APIs and integration, and modern software engineering – including platform engineering concepts.
- Hands-on experience with agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel) and multi-agent design patterns, including tool use, RAG, and context/memory management.
- Experience designing guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and human-in-the-loop oversight for agentic systems, along with familiarity with LLM observability and tracing tools (e.g., LangSmith, Arize, Langfuse).
- Strong knowledge of production architecture considerations, including security, resilience, observability, scalability, and architecture governance.
- Expertise with major cloud AI/ML platforms (AWS Bedrock/SageMaker, Azure AI Foundry/OpenAI Service, Google Vertex AI), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code.
- Hands-on technical foundations – including proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, TypeScript/Node.js etc.) – that enable you to challenge designs, guide engineering teams, and contribute directly when needed.
- Ability to navigate complex technology trade-offs and communicate architecture recommendations effectively to senior technical and business audiences.
- Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
