Oncology Registered Nurse

Location: Indiana (Multiple Cancer Center Locations)

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift Required Qualifications

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana.
- 2 years of Oncology nursing experience required.
- Experience obtaining and documenting patient vital signs and clinical assessments.
- Proficiency in blood draws, specimen collection, and specimen handling.
- Experience with patient pre-screening activities.
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel between multiple clinical and cancer center locations as needed.
- Certified Chemotherapy Nurse (OCN® or chemotherapy certification preferred).

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct patient visits for Phase I oncology clinical trials, supporting approximately 5 to 7 patients daily across multiple studies.
- Assess and document vital signs, clinical observations, and patient status using EPIC.
- Collect and process biological specimens, including blood draws, ensuring accurate labeling, handling, and timely delivery to laboratory teams.
- Assist with patient pre-screening activities according to study protocols.
- Provide high-quality oncology nursing care to patients during study visits ranging from 1 to 8 hours.
- Monitor patients for safety, treatment tolerance, and protocol compliance throughout study visits.
- Collaborate with physicians, research staff, and nursing colleagues to coordinate patient care and daily workflows.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation while adhering to study requirements and nursing standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding patient care, workflow improvements, and trial operations.
- Travel between multiple cancer center and clinic locations as needed to support patient visits, study activities, and research operations.
- Ensure compliance with clinical trial protocols, institutional policies, and professional nursing standards.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
