AFMs team of experienced professionals works closely with clients to understand and achieve their objectives through a comprehensive suite of land management and advisory services. With 50 regionally based offices managing almost 6 million acres, AFM offers strong local expertise, while its national platform supports collaboration among multidisciplinary teams of foresters and technical specialists to manage large and complex land projects.

AFMs services include land and wildlife management; land sales and acquisitions; forest inventory, planning, and design; growth and yield modeling; cash-flow projections; environmental and farmland services; appraisal; forest resource data management; and harvest scheduling.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Position will be responsible for multiple clients accounting functions to include, but not limited to:

- Process AP, including preparation and review of logger pay statements

- Sales contract entry, payment processing, and cash application

- Assist with Forest Excise and B&O tax reporting and filings

- Perform month-end bank reconciliations and journal entries

- Complete year-end tax reporting, including 1099 processing

- Provide a high level of customer service and maintain positive client relationships

- Reconcile scale tickets, including verification and tracking in the log accounting system

- Compile year-end owner packets

- Complete special projects and other requests as needed

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in accounting, or finance or a combination of education and relevant work experience

- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience

- Strong communication skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and as a team

- Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Suite products

- Knowledge of FPA, LIMS, Unanet, Yardi, and timber/delivered sales accounting is a plus but not required

- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required

- Soft Skills: Communication, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving, Time Management, Collaboration, Client Services Orientated.

Location Requirement: This position requires the ability to commute to our Charlotte, NC office as needed. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
