About this role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Programmer/Machinist to join our manufacturing team in a hands-on role taking parts from 3D models or drawings through programming, setup, prove-out, and production. Beyond basic operation or setup, this position requires a true machinist who can independently program using Autodesk Inventor/Fusion CAM software, select tooling, establish work holding, perform first-article inspections, and consistently produce high-quality parts efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Program CNC milling machines using Autodesk Inventor CAM.

- Set up an operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.

- Develop efficient toolpaths, select appropriate tooling, and establish feeds and speeds.

- Set up CNC milling machines, including work holding, tooling, offsets, and work coordinates.

- Load, prove out, troubleshoot, and modify CNC programs in Autodesk Inventor CAM.

- Operate CNC mills and monitor machining processes during production.

- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.

- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, and programming issues.

- Optimize programs to improve cycle time, tool life, part quality, and repeatability.

- Maintain accurate setup documentation and tooling information.

- Work closely with engineering, management and personnel to resolve manufacturing issues.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Qualifications

Required:

- Proven experience programming and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls.

- Hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor/Fusion CAM software.

- Strong understanding of CNC milling processes, tooling, work holding, feeds and speeds.

- Ability to set up machines independently and prove out programs.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

- Experience using precision inspection equipment.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs from programming through finished part.

Preferred:

- Experience programming with Autodesk Inventor CAM.

- 3–5+ years of CNC machining/programming experience.

- Experience with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis CNC mills.

- Experience machining aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and other common materials.

- Experience with tight-tolerance machining

- Experience with production and prototype/low-volume work.

- Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls.

- Experience designing fixtures or work holding.

- Machining trade school, technical degree, or equivalent practical experience.
