Job Description

The EAR Ramp Up Regional Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for accelerating revenue growth, asset accumulation, and business momentum for franchise advisors transitioning books of business to Ameriprise through the Experienced Advisor Recruiting (EAR) program. This role partners closely with field leaders, lead advisors, Wealth Management Specialists, RiverSource partners, and ABDG resources to help advisors successfully retain, transfer, and grow client relationships following transition.

The EAR Ramp Up RSD serves as a business consultant, coach, and growth strategist focused on helping advisors recover and exceed pre-transition GDC levels while developing sustainable client acquisition and organic growth systems. The role combines coaching, book-of-business analysis, pipeline management, accountability, and strategic business planning to drive measurable advisor outcomes. The EAR Ramp Up strategy specifically emphasizes structured coaching designed to translate best practices into measurable GDC and AUM growth for advisors with a transferring book of business.

Preferred location is the greater Minneapolis area.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth & Business Development

- Drive post-transition revenue growth, GDC production, and asset accumulation for EAR advisors.
- Partner with advisors to establish and execute 12-month growth plans focused on revenue recovery and acceleration.
- Monitor advisor progress against pre-transition production benchmarks and growth targets.
- Identify opportunities to increase client acquisition, deepen client relationships, and expand wallet share.
- Support advisors in implementing proven business development and client acquisition strategies.

Book of Business Analysis & Opportunity Identification

- Conduct comprehensive book-of-business reviews to uncover opportunities for: New assets under management Net flows Client acquisition Cross-sell and advice opportunities Client retention and consolidation Fee-based asset growth
- Analyze client segmentation, revenue concentration, and advisor pipelines to prioritize growth opportunities.
- Develop actionable recommendations and business plans based on advisor opportunity analysis.
- Utilize performance reporting and business intelligence tools to identify trends and areas of opportunity.

Advisor Coaching & Consultation

- Deliver one-on-one coaching, practice consultations, and structured growth planning sessions.
- Guide advisors in building scalable business processes, client service models, and prospecting disciplines.
- Help advisors establish consistent execution routines that lead to sustainable growth.
- Facilitate accountability discussions focused on activity, pipeline development, and business results.
- Coach advisors to effectively utilize Ameriprise resources, technology, and growth programs.

EAR Ramp Up Program Execution

- Lead advisor participation in the EAR Ramp Up program and related growth initiatives.
- Coordinate coaching strategies with field leaders, lead advisors, and business partners.
- Monitor participation, engagement, and performance outcomes throughout the advisor's ramp-up period.
- Support successful transitions from onboarding and ramp-up into long-term growth programs.
- Share best practices and success stories across cohorts to accelerate advisor development.

Partner & Field Leader Collaboration

- Collaborate with Franchise Field Partners, Complex Directors, and Lead Advisors to support advisor growth.
- Partner with Wealth Management, RiverSource, and other product specialists to identify growth opportunities.
- Conduct regular business reviews with field leaders to assess advisor progress and action plans.
- Serve as a trusted consultant on advisor growth strategy and business performance.

Performance Measurement & Accountability

- Track advisor performance against key metrics including: GDC growth Asset gathering Net flows Client acquisition Pipeline activity Book retention
- Maintain scorecards and business reviews to monitor progress and reinforce accountability.
- Provide leadership with regular updates on advisor engagement, growth opportunities, and results.

Success Measures

- The EAR Ramp Up RSD will be evaluated on: Growth in advisor GDC and revenue production.
- Improvement in assets under management and net flows.
- Client acquisition and business development outcomes.
- Book retention and successful advisor transitions.
- Advisor engagement and completion of ramp-up activities.
- Identification and execution of actionable growth opportunities through book-of-business consulting.
- Successful transition of advisors into sustainable long-term growth programs.

This RSD role is less as a traditional coach and more as a post-transition growth consultant responsible for revenue recovery, GDC acceleration, new asset gathering, and book-of-business optimization , which aligns with the intent of the EAR Ramp Up program

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience participating in client meetings supporting / facilitating the discussion and client case analysis
- Analysis - ability to review, analyze, gather data. Can identify data trends and develop and articulate solutions to solve for gaps in plan
- Leadership - demonstrated ability to lead and motivate advisors, leaders and field staff - engages with influence to support territory goals
- FINRA Series 7 or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Active State securities agent registration (S63 or S66) or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Active State IAR (S65 or S66) ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to travel 25%

Preferred Qualifications

- Excellent communication skills - written, speaking clearly and in a compelling manner in front of small and large audiences
- Executive presence - convey a meaningful message with confidence and assertion while able to answer questions on the fly
- Emotional competence - ability to be resilient in difficult situations, discipline in execution and positivity
- Product knowledge - familiarity and some expertise with Wealth Management and Risk
- Sales experience and Coaching Skills - able to engage and teach advisors while demonstrating accountability for results

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $114,500 - $157,400 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
