JOB SUMMARY

The IT System Administrator is responsible for hands-on technical support for end users, systems, and escalated issues for both onsite and remote users. This role combines hands on Tier 2/3 helpdesk support with system administrator responsibilities for supporting endpoints, basic networking, and infrastructure. The role requires a self starter who can delivering high-quality onsite support, resolve complex issues in a timely manner, and coordinate with a Managed IT Services Partner to ensure seamless IT operations. Additionally, the role will serve as the internal technical resource for situations requiring organizational familiarity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide in person support for walk ups, onsite troubleshooting, and user assistance needs
- Handle escalated tickets requiring hands-on intervention or deeper organizational context
- Support device lifecycle tasks such as imaging, hardware setup, workstation refreshes, and physical inventory
- Deploy and support on site desk equipment and shared resources
- Resolve software, configuration, and access issues
- Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, replacements, and coordinate warranty/vendor service when needed
- Support networking components including switch port checks, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and physical connectivity issues
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability remediation, and security awareness efforts
- Assist with IT projects requiring onsite presence, technical validation, or coordination with third party providers
- Contribute to and maintain clear up to date IT documentation
- Utilize PowerShell for automation of tasks

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

- Comply with all government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with the Chemring Operational Framework, Code of Conduct and U.S. Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
- Special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security +, or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) are desired

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of five years prior experience as a Helpdesk Tier 2/3, System Administrator, or similar IT role

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance, as needed
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Organized, detail oriented, and capable of prioritizing work effectively
- Ability to follow established procedures while contributing to ongoing process improvements
- Occasional travel or after-hours support may be required depending on organizational needs
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with MS Office products
- Experience with Intune Autopilot
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles such as least privilege, separation of duties, MFA, and attack surface reduction
- Familiarity with information technology or cybersecurity frameworks and regulations

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Use of computer. Travel occasionally, up to 10-15%.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

CHGi's current salary range for this role is $60,000 to $90,000 / year. At CHGi, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, location and geography. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. CHGi’s benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, gym reimbursement, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts. CHGi follows a 9/80 work schedule allowing employees to enjoy alternating Fridays off.
