CT Technologist – Part time
At Capitol Imaging Services (Diagnostic Imaging Services), we are seeking a skilled and patient-focused CT Technologist to join our outpatient imaging team. The CT Technologist will perform high-quality computed tomography examinations while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a safe, efficient, and professional imaging environment.
The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, compassionate, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with radiologists, technologists, and other clinical staff.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced CT examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Verify patient identity, clinical history, exam orders, and appropriate indications prior to imaging.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide reassurance throughout the examination.
- Properly position patients and operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
- Administer oral and/or IV contrast agents as permitted by applicable regulations, facility policies, and scope of practice.
- Screen patients for allergies, contraindications, renal function requirements, pregnancy considerations, and other relevant safety concerns.
- Recognize and appropriately respond to contrast reactions and other patient emergencies.
- Monitor patients throughout examinations and communicate significant findings or concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and complete required documentation.
- Follow radiation safety practices, ALARA principles, infection-control procedures, and facility policies.
- Perform routine quality-control procedures and report equipment issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready imaging environment.
- Assist with workflow efficiency, including patient preparation, room turnover, and coordination with front-office and clinical staff.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, referring providers, radiologists, and coworkers.
- Protect patient privacy and comply with HIPAA and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain required certifications and credentials.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography required.
- ARRT CT certification or CT eligibility required, based on company policy.

- Associate’s Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or similar field
- State licensure
- Current ARRT/CT certification.
- Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Maintains communication and cooperation with radiologists and other ancillary departments regarding changes in protocol, scheduling of procedures, exams performed and patient flow.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Excellent customer service skills ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Flexibility in scheduling
