SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for overseeing strategic procurement activities from sourcing to contract (S2C) execution and is also responsible for ensuring appropriate actions, plans and follow-up activity is in place to drive improved vendor performance aligning with BGIS Corporate and Client-based goals and objectives. This role primarily includes:

- Adherence to the BGIS Sourcing Policies and related processes to ensure effective quality control in S2C process.

- Effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of managers and employees.

- Development, management and implementation of Account Procurement Manual and Procurement Plan

- Lead assigned continuous improvement projects in order to make sourcing operations effective and optimal.

- Responsible for workload and resource planning for the Procurement and Vendor Management Team.

- Responsible for the Supplier Performance, Relationship Management and Strategic Supplier Business Review program.

- Responsible for ensuring appropriate actions, plans and follow-up activity is in place to drive improved vendor performance. This individual will proactively monitor strategic suppliers’ service delivery activities, prioritizing and escalating according to functional and senior leadership to ensure client brand protection, compliance to obligations and timely execution of deliverables.

- Liaise with other Strategic Sourcing roles, Facility and Operations Management, Small Works (SW) and Asset Renewal Client Works ( ARCW) and Procure-to-Pay concerned parties for Vendor Performance Management and Scorecard Program.

- Supports the development and execution of supplier-based sustainability, circular economy, supplier diversity and innovation programs initiatives.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership

- Provide visionary leadership, guiding, training, and mentoring team members toward achieving their full potential and meeting corporate objectives.

- Involve fully in recruiting, mentoring, coaching, and guiding team members.

- Ensure team members’ adherence to BGIS values and policies.

- Accountable for employee engagement, development, performance management, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

- Accountable for hiring, retention, and compensation recommendations.

- Responsible for workload and resource planning for the Account Procurement and Vendor Mgmt Team.

Strategic Sourcing

- Ensures that procurement initiatives are completed in accordance with corporate and client strategic sourcing policies and procedures, and that the resulting contractual agreements are compliant with BGIS Customer Master Service Agreement flow through requirements. Liaise with Risk Management, Legal Counsel, and Finance as required.

- Responsible for development and implementation for Sustainable Procurement initiatives to meet BGIS’s and BGIS’ Clients ESG and DEI objectives and targets.

- Identifies opportunities to standardize service delivery scopes of work across other BGIS procurement and customer groups and implement new standards, including service level models.

- Ensures that the financial terms of major supplier agreements are optimized by leveraging the buying power of the BGIS group of companies and parent organizations.

Strategic Account Management

- Manage and lead Client account procurement pipelines to ensure regular updates are provided to internal concerned parties.

- Accountable for the development of the procurement plan in collaboration with the client and internal BGIS team members.

- Acts as the escalation point for cross client supported Strategic Sourcing activities and inquiries.

- Engages with the Client as required for information and support accordingly.

Vendor Management System

- Maintain and manage the BGIS IO account Vendor Management System framework including defining requirements, roles and responsibilities, documentation and ensuring training support is in place.

- Regular reporting of requirement results/performance.

- Participate in development and tracking of non-conformance action plans related to any undesirable results.

- Develops, recommends and facilitates Vendor Performance improvement plans.

Risk Management

- Vendor Qualification - engage with vendors and Sourcing/SCA teams to ensure requirements are maintained.

- Vendor BCP / Emergency Resilience – support Sourcing/Operations to ensure to ensure requirements are maintained.

- Financial Audit - engage with Finance/AP and Sourcing teams to ensure requirements are maintained, monitor and report results.

- Work order Closure - engage with Finance/Operations Centre and Vendors to ensure requirements are maintained.

- Vendor Training - engage with Operations and Vendors to ensure requirements are maintained, monitor and report results.

Efficiency

- Vendor Evaluation - engage with IT/Operations/Sourcing to ensure requirements are maintained.

- Benchmarking - engage with Sourcing to ensure requirements are maintained.

- Streamline Processes – participate in CI activities, monitor and report results.

Performance

- Leads the identification and implementation of performance metrics to measure supplier performance.

- Leads supplier performance measurement and management.

- Supplier Relationship Management.

- Quality Audits engage with Operations, SW and ARCW to ensure requirements are maintained, monitor and report results.

- Manage Supplier Business Reviews engaging with Operations/Sourcing to ensure requirements are maintained, monitor and report results.

- KPI’s reporting.

- Innovation - engage with Operations/ARCW/Sourcing/Finance to monitor and report results.

Industry Knowledge and Best Practices

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing best practices.

- Provide expert advice and leadership in strategic sourcing and category management.

Support, Training and Continuous Improvement

- Develop and standardize strategic sourcing documentation, including contract agreements, scopes of work, and service level agreements.

- Address internal and external concerned parties focused training and awareness needs related to strategic sourcing.

- Accountable for identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement opportunities and achieving greater operational efficiencies for sourcing initiatives and other managed activities.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field (Business or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience with 5+ years of relevant experience.

- Extensive experience in contracting language and negotiations.

- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.

- Strong capabilities in developing strategies that enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

- Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

- Thorough understanding of all the considerations for a robust TCOO model.

- Ability to work with all levels in an organization.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Able to resolve complex issues & problems internally and externally.

- Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management.

- Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of managers and employees.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external concerned parties.

- Ability to maintain external contacts with consultants, associations and other companies for benchmarking and relationship management.

- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

- SCMP Designation or equivalency will be an asset.

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $158,180 - $197,725 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education, professional designations and performance related to this role.
